Elon Musk is now a father of 12.

The Tesla CEO, the richest man in the world, and Shivon Zilis, director of special projects at his company Neuralink, have privately welcomed their third baby together.

Musk, 52, confirmed the news June 23, two days after Bloomberg Businessweek magazine cited people familiar with the matter as saying the child was born earlier this year.

“All our friends and family know,” the SpaceX founder told Page Six. “Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret.'”

Musk did not reveal the name or the sex of the baby. The chairman of X — previously known as Twitter — and Silis, 38, are also parents of twins — son Strider and daughter Azure, 2, who were conceived via IVF.

“He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to,” Zilis is quoted as saying in Walter Isaacson’s 2003 biography Elon Musk. “If the choice is between an anonymous sperm donor or doing it with the person you admire most in the world, for me that was a pretty f–king easy decision.”

She added, “I can’t possibly think of genes I would prefer for my children.”

Musk also shares three kids — X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 2, and Techno Mechanicus, whose birth was confirmed in 2023 — with ex Grimes, 36.

The tech billionaire also fathered six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson Musk, 51.

In April, Musk jokingly reflected on his parenting journey. “Whoa,” he wrote on X, “I just realized that raising a kid is basically 18 years of prompt engineering.”

‘Hot Ones' host Sean Evans stunned after Heidi Klum takes shirt off to cool down from spicy wings https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/hot-ones-heidi-klum-takes-shirt-off/5529843/ 5529843 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image-4-8.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Heidi Klum tried to remain cool, calm and collected while eating spicy wings on “Hot Ones,” but she soon fell victim to a hot sauce called Da’ Bomb.

At the beginning of the episode, Klum told host Sean Evans that she is not a fan of spicy food.

“Having four kids, even if I would put pepper on the food, they would go, ‘Oh, mom, that’s a little hot,’” she said. “So, I’ve been always cooking and people who have been cooking also for my family, it’s always been super mild for the kids, so I feel like, this is going to be very hard for me today.”

Even though Klum had a strategy of not letting let the wings touch her lips, she couldn’t prevent a hot sauce called Da’ Bomb, which had a Scoville rating of 135,600, from getting to her.

Once Klum and Evans bit into their wings, Klum had to take a few sips of buttermilk to calm her taste buds, saying, “I’m getting hot.” She then proceeded to unbutton her denim top and fan herself with it to cool herself down.

“Now, I’m getting hot, too, Heidi,” Evans joked while fanning himself with his hands.

However, that didn’t seem to help because moments later, Klum took more sips of buttermilk and took off her top completely.

“That one is the kicker,” she said, referencing the hot sauce.

“I feel slightly better,” she eventually said after wiping her nose and fanning her underarms.

While Klum struggled tasting Da’ Bomb hot sauce, she had a much better time eating a chicken wing that was coated in Peppers Up! hot sauce, which boasts a Scoville level of 700,000.

“This is almost doable again,” she said while taking a bite. “Are you sure about this one?”

“Yup,” Evans replied. “Wow, amazing Heidi. Impressive.”

Justin Timberlake breaks his silence following Hamptons DWI arrest https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/justin-timberlake-breaks-his-silence-following-hamptons-dwi-arrest/5529436/ 5529436 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2153478765.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Justin Timberlake broke his silence following his arrest for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons on June 18.

The pop star took the stage at his concert in Chicago on June 21 for the first time since his arrest. He thanked his fans for “growing up” with him over the years.

“We’ve been through ups and downs and lefts and rights,” he said to the cheering crowd. “It’s been a tough week.”

“I know sometimes I’m hard to love but you keep on loving me and I’m going to love you right back,” he continued.

Timberlake didn’t specifically mention the DWI.

Timberlake, 43, was driving a gray 2025 BMW when an officer observed him run a stop sign and then fail to stay in his lane on two occasions, the Sag Harbor Police Department said in a complaint released on June 18.

Surveillance video posted on Hamptons.com appears to show a vehicle that matches the description of the one Timberlake was driving when he was pulled over and arrested by police in New York early Tuesday.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and determined Timberlake was driving in an “intoxicated condition,” police said.

In the complaint, an officer said Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

The “SexyBack” singer told officers, “I had one martini and followed my friends home,” Sag Harbor police said.

He refused to take a breathalyzer test three times, police said. He was placed under arrest and held overnight.

Timberlake was arraigned on at least one DWI charge on Tuesday morning, a Sag Harbor court spokesperson and a Suffolk County District Attorney’s office spokesperson confirmed to NBC News.

Timberlake pleaded not guilty and was ordered to appear in court on July 26, officials said.

After the arraignment, Timberlake was released “on his own recognizance, according to police.

Edward Burke Jr., an attorney for Timberlake, issued a statement to NBC News on Wednesday: “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.”

Timberlake ate at the American Hotel in the upscale Long Island beach town on Monday evening and then was headed to a friend’s home when he was pulled over, a source close to the star told NBC News.

Timberlake released his latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” in March, and began his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour” in April in Vancouver, Canada.

The pop star and father of two‘s last show was in Miami on June 15, and his next performance was set for June 21 in Chicago.

Timberlake’s tour dates were scheduled through December and featured appearances in North America and Europe.

Julie Chrisley to be resentenced after appeals court throws out 7-year punishment https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/julie-chrisley-to-be-resentenced/5528995/ 5528995 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/04/AP24109564354576.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Reality TV star Julie Chrisley’s sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion was thrown out Friday by federal appeals judges, who ordered a lower court to redo her punishment over what the appellate panel called a “narrow issue.”

Julie Chrisley and her husband, Todd Chrisley, who earned fame for the show “Chrisley Knows Best” that chronicled the exploits of their tight-knit family, were convicted in 2022 of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. The Chrisleys were also found guilty of tax evasion by hiding their earnings while showcasing an extravagant lifestyle.

The couple’s accountant, Peter Tarantino, stood trial with them and was convicted of conspiracy to defraud the United States and willfully filing false tax returns.

A three-judge panel of 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the convictions of the Chrisleys and Tarantino in a ruling that found a legal error only in how the trial judge calculated Julie Chrisley’s sentence by holding her accountable for the entire bank fraud scheme. So the appellate panel sent her case back to the lower court for re-sentencing.

Before the Chrisleys became reality television stars, they and a former business partner submitted false documents to banks in the Atlanta area to obtain fraudulent loans, prosecutors said during the trial. They accused the couple of spending lavishly on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate and travel, and using new fraudulent loans to pay off old ones. Todd Chrisley then filed for bankruptcy, according to prosecutors, walking away from more than $20 million in unpaid loans.

Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, and Todd Chrisley got 12 years behind bars. The couple was also ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution.

Their defense attorneys argued unsuccessfully on appeal that at an IRS officer lied at the trial when he testified about the couple still owing taxes and that prosecutors knowingly failed to correct that false testimony. They also asserted that prosecutors failed to show enough evidence to convict the Chrisleys of tax evasion and conspiracy, or that Julie Chrisley participated in bank fraud.

Tarantino’s lawyer argued that the accountant was harmed by being tried with the Chrisleys. His request for a new trial was denied.

The appellate judges found only one error with the case. They ruled that the trial judge at sentencing held Julie Chrisley responsible for the entire bank fraud scheme starting in 2006. The panel ruled neither prosecutors nor the trial judge cited “any specific evidence showing she was involved in 2006.”

The panel found sufficient evidence tying her to fraud from multiple years starting in 2007.

“We must vacate Julie’s sentence so the district court can address the narrow issue of what the proper loss amount attributable to Julie is” so that her sentence can be re-calculated, the appeals panel wrote.

Alex Little, an attorney for the Chrisleys, did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment Friday evening.

Todd Chrisley, 56, is at a minimum security federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, with a release date in September 2032, while Julie Chrisley, 51, is at a facility in Lexington, Kentucky, and is due for release in July 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.

Tarantino, 61, s being held in a minimum security federal prison camp in Montgomery, Alabama, with a release date in August of next year.

The “Hawaii Five-0″ family has lost one of its own.

Actor Taylor Wily, who starred as Kamekona on the former CBS series, passed away at the age of 56, the show’s creator Peter M. Lenkov confirmed on Instagram June 20.

“I am devastated,” Lenkov captioned a photo with Wily. “Heartbroken. I’ll post some detailed feelings later. Just too hard right now.”

In a follow up Instagram post, the producer recalled meeting Wily, who appeared on all 10 seasons of the series, before production on the reboot of the original show began in 2010.

“T, as I told you many times, I fell in love with you at the first audition,” he wrote. “You came in with a towel on your head mopping up sweat, and I was smitten. You charmed me into making you a regular… on the show… and in my life. You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother.”

“PS: when we spoke last week, we laughed at how right you were from Day 1,” Lenkov continued. “Five-0 was our dream job. And I was so lucky we got to share that magic together.”

In response to Lenkov’s tributes to Wily, many fans and fellow stars, including fellow “Magnum P.I.” and “Hawaii Five-O” actor Zachary Knighton, sent their condolences.

Eva Longoria says she and Meryl Streep call each other ‘cousin' since learning they're related https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/eva-longoria-says-she-and-meryl-streep-call-each-other-cousin-since-learning-theyre-related/5526141/ 5526141 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image_bcf605.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Eva Longoria and Meryl Streep treated each other like family while filming the upcoming season of “Only Murders in the Building.”

The two actors have used a special nickname for each other ever since they learned they are distant relatives after participating in Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s 2010 PBS docuseries “Faces of America,” Longoria told DuJour.

“We actually call each other ‘cousin,’” the former “Desperate Housewives” star, 49, said, adding, “We’ll say, ‘How are you, cousin?’ and ‘I’m good, cousin.’”

Streep, 74, introduced Longoria as her cousin during the first Zoom table read for “Only Murders,” which was attended by more than 100 people involved with the show, including actors Selena Gomez, Molly Shannon and Zach Galifianakis, Longoria said.

“She tells the story and everyone’s so confused, because I’m the most Latina person in the industry, and she’s Meryl Streep,” Longoria recalled.

Longoria added that she had a blast working alongside comedy veterans Steve Martin and Martin Short on the show.

“Watching them make a lunch order is a show in itself,” she joked. “It’s a constant roast about a sandwich, a 30-minute comedy about mustard.”

On June 20, Longoria stopped by TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, where she opened up about her new Apple TV+ series “Land of Women,” which premieres June 26.

The dramatic comedy, which features characters speaking both English and Spanish, tells the story of an American socialite who is forced to leave New York City with her daughter and her mother to live life on the run in a small Spanish village.

Longoria said acting in Spanish for the first time was “so hard,” particularly since she had to speak Castilian Spanish, which is different than the Spanish spoken in Latin America.

“My brain hurt every day,” she said.

She added that “being funny” in another language was a challenge for her.

“Like, the timing and the rhythm is very different in a different language,” she said.

Longoria jokingly described how she had to be coached about where to place her accent when she spoke.

“But it’s good because I play the American in Spain so I’m very much a fish out of water,” she said. “So those mistakes, we started making fun of.”

Shannen Doherty claims ex Kurt Iswarienko is waiting for her to die to avoid paying spousal support https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/shannen-doherty-claims-ex-kurt-iswarienko-is-waiting-for-her-to-die-to-avoid-paying-spousal-support/5527625/ 5527625 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2023/04/GettyImages-1436452177-e1682204268244.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,190 Originally appeared on E! Shannen Doherty is worried she won’t get what she’s owed.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum — who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2020 — claims she has not been granted access to the financial records regarding her ex Kurt Iswarienko‘s archive of photography work, ultimately slowing down the process of her receiving spousal support, according to court documents obtained by NBC News and first reported by People.

“It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me,” Shannen alleged in the documents, “while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years.”

The 53-year-old is asking for $15,434 a month from Iswarienko, 49, due to her dwindling “Charmed” residuals and losing her SAG health insurance from being unable to act amid her health struggles.

Iswarienko’s lawyer denied the claim in the filing, saying he offered Doherty, who prior to her 2020 cancer diagnosis had battled breast cancer, a settlement deal in October and expressing hope to “put the case behind them and move forward.”

But withholding his financial records isn’t the only accusation Doherty makes in her filing. The “Charmed” actress also alleges that Iswarienko has been spending “thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and on flights” while meanwhile claiming he has insufficient funds to pay her support.

E! News reached out to Iswarienko’s lawyer for comment but has not heard back.

Doherty filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage. At the time, her rep explained to E! News that the decision was born out of necessity, saying, “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option.”

Months later, the “Let’s Be Clear” podcast host — who was previously married to Ashley Hamilton during the ’90s and to Rick Salomon during the early 2000s — spoke out about the breakup, accusing Iswarienko of having an affair amid her ongoing cancer battle. (Iswarienko has not publicly responded to the accusation.)

Doherty’s also since gotten candid about the lesson she’s learned since ending her third marriage.

“I love the idea of marriage,” she told her former fiancé and longtime friend Rob Weiss during the April 15 episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast. “I believe in that, but after my last brutal marriage, what it taught me is that a piece of paper doesn’t really mean anything.”

She added, “It doesn’t stop a person from lying.”

Ben Affleck addresses why he always looks angry in paparazzi photos https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/why-ben-affleck-looks-angry-in-paparazzi-photos/5525642/ 5525642 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AFFLECK.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Originally appeared on E! Ben Affleck is a man of many emotions.

The actor — who is the inspiration for the internet’s viral “Sad Affleck” memes — is addressing another public perception about himself: That he also seems to appear angry in paparazzi pictures.

“I’m also a little bit shy,” the Oscar winner confessed to Kevin Hart during the season four premiere of Peacock‘s “Hart to Heart.” “I also don’t like a lot of attention. That’s why people see me and they’re like, ‘Why’s this dude always mad?’ Because somebody has their camera and sticks it in my face and I’m like, ‘Okay, here we go.'”

Plus, he wants to protect his family — which includes his kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex Jennifer Garner and wife Jennifer Lopez‘s 16-year-old twins Max and Emme — from the invasive photographers.

“Also, because I’m with my kids and they’re taking my picture,” Affleck added during the June 20 episode. “Actually, what I’d like to do is much more definitive than just look at you like this. I don’t mind, you can take my picture at a club or a premiere, with my wife, I don’t give a f—. Knock yourself out. I don’t notice you. But with my children that’s a different thing.”

Ben Affleck Through the Years

However, the 51-year-old did admit that his family does call him out from time to time over his not-so-sunny facial expressions — even when he’s in the best of moods.

“By the way, I also might be somebody who I do find myself I’ll be sitting at home,” Affleck noted, “and they’re like, ‘What’s wrong?’ ‘Nothing. Nothing’s wrong.'”

The anecdote prompted Hart to suggest the “Argo” star has “resting b—- face,” to which Affleck hilariously replied, “B—-?! I have resting hard face.”

In the end, Affleck declared, “People are projecting something onto me that I don’t feel about myself at all.”

The Oscar winner’s latest comments about shying away from the public eye come amid ongoing speculation that he and Lopez are headed for a breakup after two years of marriage, though neither star has publicly addressed divorce rumors.

Attorney for Justin Timberlake addresses star's arrest for alleged DWI on Long Island https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/justin-timberlake-attorney-statement-long-island-dwi-arrest/5521790/ 5521790 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/Sag-Harbor-police-w-Timberlake-inset.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169

An attorney for Justin Timberlake has issued a statement regarding the pop star’s arrest on Long Island for alleged drunken driving after he repeatedly refused to take a chemical test during a police traffic stop.

“I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations,” said attorney Edward Burke Jr.

An officer observed the grey BMW with Florida license plates that Timberlake had been driving as it twice failed to stay on the right side of the road shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday in Sag Harbor, according to the criminal complaint. He also allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign on Madison Street at Jermain Avenue, before having trouble staying on his side of the road.

After seeing him swerve twice, police pulled the vehicle over.

I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations.

Timberlake’s attorney Edward Burke Jr.

The cop who stopped him said the so-dubbed “Prince of Pop” appeared to be drunk, with bloodshot, glassy eyes and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. The complaint says Timberlake was unsteady and had slowed speech; he also allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests. They said he couldn’t focus on speaking to police while he was looking for his registration, either.

“I had one martini and I followed my friends home,” Timberlake allegedly told officers.

Officers took him to the Sag Village Police Department for processing, where the complaint says he refused three times over the course of about 40 minutes to take a chemical test of his blood alcohol content.

“No, I’m not doing a chemical test,” Timberlake said according to the complaint. The singer reiterated twice, “I refuse.”

He was then taken to East Hampton Town police headquarters and held overnight ahead of his Tuesday morning arraignment. Timberlake was released on his own recognizance after that hearing. Timberlake pleaded not guilty in court and was ordered back on July 26, officials said.

Mugshot photo released by the Sag Harbor Police Department.

On Wednesday, Timberlake’s attorney released a statement regarding the arrest.

“I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office,” said Burke Jr.

The singer has not released any comment on the incident himself. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office had no further comment.

Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, was spotted back on set filming “The Better Sister” in Manhattan hours after his arrest, according to E!.

Police also have the encounter on body and dash cameras, but the footage has not been released.

Before his arrest, Timberlake had been leaving The American Hotel on Main Street, a popular spot in Sag Harbor. Famed singer Billy Joel lives in the town and was spotted at the hotel and restaurant Tuesday by an NBC News crew.

“I don’t really know him that much, so I have no comment,” Joel said when asked about Timberlake’s encounter with police.

“Judge not, lest ye be judged,” Joel added.

The arrest comes amid Timberlake’s first world tour in nearly six years. The pop icon is scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York City next week on June 25 and 26.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment representatives deferred questions to Timberlake’s representatives.

Sag Harbor is a coastal village in the Hamptons, around 100 miles from New York City. In the summer, it is a hot spot for wealthy visitors.

Billy Ray Cyrus' estranged wife Firerose accuses him of domestic abuse https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/billy-ray-cyrus-estranged-wife-firerose-accuses-him-of-domestic-abuse/5522237/ 5522237 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1741629301.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Online

Firerose is leveraging new allegations.

The singer (real name Johanna Rosie Hodges) accused estranged husband Billy Ray Cyrus of abusing her during their relationship, which ended in May when he filed for divorce after seven months of marriage.

Firerose, 36, alleged the Hannah Montana alum was “unpredictable and volatile,” according to court documents filed June 14 and obtained by People.

“Wife was the victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse,” her attorneys wrote in the document. “Wife was subjected to Husband’s persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife.”

In response to the filing, Cyrus’ lawyers issued a statement to E! News alleging that Firerose — who Cyrus has accused of defrauding him into marriage — tried to reconcile with him after the breakup.

“We regret that Ms. Hodges has chosen to litigate this 7-month marriage in the press,” his lawyers Rose Palermo and Jason Talley said in a statement, “and has left Mr. Cyrus with no recourse but to set the record straight.”

Photos: A Guide to Miley Cyrus’ Family

According to the attorneys, Firerose sent a handwritten note and text to Cyrus expressing her love.

His lawyers said her allegation is “confusing and suspicious in its veracity since she begged Mr. Cyrus to forgive her and take her back only two days after he filed his pleadings to dissolve his marriage.”

“If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations that Ms. Hodges alleges in her pleadings, then it is mindboggling to try and explain why she would want to return to live with him,” the attorneys continued. “Furthermore, she was pleading with him to give her a chance to explain everything to him.”

E! News has reached out to Firerose’s attorney for comment but hasn’t heard back.

Cyrus—who shares kids Trace, 35, Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24, with ex Tish Cyrus—ended his romance with Firerose on May 22, per his divorce filing obtained by E! News June 11.

The 62-year-old cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason for their split and requested an annulment, saying that “consent to marriage was obtained by fraud.”

The day after their breakup, Cyrus filed a temporary restraining order against her.

He alleged that Firerose spent $96,986 on 37 unauthorized charges on his business account in weeks leading up to the breakup, including payments of over $70,000 to her attorneys, per legal documents obtained by People.

However, Firerose’s lawyers labeled the accusation as “untrue” in a response to the filing.

“Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage,” her lawyers wrote, per People. “Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”

Ariana Grande addresses fans' shock over her voice change https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/ariana-grande-addresses-fans-shock-over-her-voice-change/5520279/ 5520279 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2074292147.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Ariana Grande is saying yes, and? to criticism about her voice.

The “thank u, next” singer recently surprised fans when she appeared to shift between two different registers accents during a June 12 appearance on Penn Badgley‘s Podcrushed podcast. And now she’s explaining exactly why that happens—with a lot of it stemming from the time she spent playing Glinda in the upcoming Wicked films.

“habit,” Grande wrote June 18 in the TikTok comments of a video calling out the change. “(speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health.”

She added, “I intentionally change my vocal placement (high /low) often depending on how much singing i’m doing. i’ve always done this BYE.”

In the original clip, the 30-year-old could be heard speaking in a deeper voice before shifting to a higher, softer octave while discussing her music.

And while some jokingly noted they could relate to the change, including a user who wrote, “Me when I have to use my customer service voice,” many fans quickly came to Grande’s defense.

“Yall acting like y’all’s voices don’t change in certain spaces and settings,” a fan noted, “her interview voice is no different, especially cause singers use to to preserve their vocals. don’t bring no dumb s–t over here.”

Another even assumed the change had to do with Wicked, saying, “Bet you she does this voice change to help ease into the operatic resonance she needs to use for when she sings Glinda s–t.”

And Grande herself has even touched on the changes she had to make to play the character, explaining that she worked with an acting coach and a voice coach every day to assist in her transition to Glinda.

“Everything about me, I had to deconstruct to prove to them I could handle taking on this other person,” Grande explained during a Feb. 26 appearance on The Zach Sang Show. “I had to completely erase popstar Ari, the person they know so well, because it’s even harder to believe someone as someone else when you’re so branded as one thing.”

She added, “I had to go all the way to strip that down, come into my callback with no makeup, my hair down, I looked like I was 11 years old.”

Celeb brushes with the law aren't new in the Hamptons. Ask Billy Joel or Martha Stewart https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/celeb-brushes-law-hamptons-billy-joel-martha-stewart/5518599/ 5518599 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image-10-2.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Justin Timberlake is not the first celebrity to get arrested in the Hamptons. The beach communities on the eastern end of Long Island are popular with the rich and famous, and some have gotten into trouble there, much of it vehicular. Here are a few examples:

BILLY JOEL

Singer Billy Joel and Long Island commercial fishermen from the East Hampton Baymen’s Association were charged with catching striped bass illegally during a July 1992 protest against fishing regulations. The charges were later dismissed. The plight of fishermen whose livelihood is threatened by regulations inspired Joel’s song “The Downeaster ‘Alexa.’”

Then in Jan. 2003 Joel swerved off the road and crashed his Mercedes into a tree in Sag Harbor. Joel was hospitalized; he was not arrested.

MARTHA STEWART

A landscaper working for real estate mogul Harry Macklowe accused TV personality and homemaking entrepreneur Martha Stewart of intentionally backing her car into him in May 1997 amid a feud between Macklowe and Stewart, East Hampton neighbors. The Suffolk Count district attorney’s office investigated but decided not to bring charges against Stewart.

“Not every event which adversely affects a person’s life deserves to be litigated in criminal court,” then-District Attorney James Catterson said.

“P.R. PRINCESS” LIZZIE GRUBMAN

Lizzie Grubman, a so-called publicist to the stars whose clients included Britney Spears and Jay-Z, was asked by a security guard in Southampton to move her Mercedes out of a fire lane on July 7, 2001. Grubman responded by backing the vehicle into a crowd, injuring 16 people. Grubman was charged with crimes including second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment. She faced a prison sentence of up to eight years but served only thirty-eight days in jail and five years probation after reaching a plea deal.

JASON KIDD

Jason Kidd, the basketball Hall of Famer and coach whose Dallas Mavericks lost the NBA finals to the Boston Celtics on Monday, slammed his Cadillac Escalade into a light pole in Southampton in July 2012. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DWI charge and was placed on probation. In exchange for the guilty plea, Kidd agreed to speak to Long Island high school students about the dangers of drunken driving.

BRIAN FRANCE

Former NASCAR CEO Brian France was arrested in Sag Harbor for driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of oxycodone in August 2018 after police said he was seen driving his Lexus through a stop sign. France pleaded guilty to DWI and was required to perform 100 hours of community service and undergo alcohol counseling.

‘I had one martini': Justin Timberlake arrested for alleged DWI on Long Island https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/justin-timberlake-arrest-sag-harbor-long-island/5517507/ 5517507 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/timberlake-mug.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all

Justin Timberlake was arrested on Long Island’s Sag Harbor on a driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge after refusing three times to take a chemical test following his stop for rolling through a stop sign, according to a criminal complaint.

An officer observed that and trailed Timberlake, who was pulled over after failing twice to stay on the right side of the road shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday., the complaint says. The cop who stopped him says the so-dubbed “Prince of Pop” appeared to be drunk, with bloodshot, glassy eyes and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.

“I had one martini and I followed my friends home,” Timberlake allegedly told officers.

Mugshot photo released by the Sag Harbor Police Department.

Driving a grey BMW with Florida license plates, Timberlake initially failed to stop at the stop sign on Madison Street at Jermain Avenue, before having trouble staying on the right side of the lane several times on Madison, according to the complaint. Police said they saw him swerve twice before they pulled him over.

The complaint says Timberlake was unsteady and had slowed speech; he also allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests. They said he couldn’t focus on speaking to police while he was looking for his registration, either.

“A refusal can be introduced at trial to establish conscious evidence of guilt,” NBC News legal analyst Danny Cevallos said. “It is the predicate for a revocation of driving privileges.”

They also have the encounter on body and dash cameras, but the footage has not been released.

He was then taken to East Hampton Town police headquarters and held overnight ahead of his morning arraignment. Timberlake was released on his own recognizance after that hearing.

Timberlake pleaded not guilty in court and was ordered back on July 26, officials said.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office had no further comment. Neither the singer nor his representatives could immediately be reached for comment.

Early Tuesday morning, Timberlake was leaving The American Hotel on Main Street, a popular spot in Sag Harbor.

“I know when I go out and party, me and my friends we get an Uber,” said Sag Harbor resident Tony Delpino. “We got a Lyft, because if we drink, we don’t take our cars. If you were gonna have a drink, I’m not getting in your car.”

“If you’re going to drink, don’t drive, especially for celebrities,” Sag Harbor resident Vanessa Leggard said. “They have the money to hire a driver. Why are you driving?”

The arrest comes amid Timberlake’s first world tour in nearly six years. The pop icon is scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York City next week on June 25 and 26.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment representatives deferred questions to Timberlake’s representatives.

Actor Ian McKellen, 85, is hospitalized after toppling off stage in London https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/ian-mckellen-hospitalized-after-toppling-off-stage-in-london/5515832/ 5515832 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP21047549110276.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,219 Actor Ian McKellen is expected to make a full recovery after he toppled off a London stage Monday during a fight scene and was hospitalized, a spokesperson said.

McKellen, 85, was in “good spirits” after doctors said a scan showed he was expected to fully recover from the fall, a spokesperson for the Noel Coward Theatre said.

The stage and screen veteran known for playing Gandalf in the “Lord of the Rings” films and many stage roles over a six decade career cried out in pain after the fall, according to a BBC journalist at the theater.

McKellen was playing John Falstaff in “Player Kings,” a production of Henry IV, parts one and two, adapted and directed by Robert Icke, at the Noel Coward Theatre.

He lost his footing and fell off the stage in a scene with the Prince of Wales and Henry Percy. The tumble startled theatergoers.

“Sir Ian seemed to trip as he moved downstage to take a more active part in the scene,” audience member Paul Critchley told the PA news agency, saying it was a shock. “He picked up momentum as he moved downstage which resulted in him falling off the stage directly in front of the audience.”

Staff and two doctors in the audience helped the ailing actor, the spokesperson said.

The theater was evacuated and the play was canceled. The production for Tuesday was also canceled to give McKellen time to rest.

McKellen’s career includes playing Magneto in the X-Men films and several Shakespearean characters including Richard II, Macbeth and King Lear.

He has won a Tony Award for “Amadeus,” several Laurence Olivier Awards and has been nominated for two Oscars and several BAFTA awards.

Carrie Underwood and family safe after fire at Nashville home https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/carrie-underwood-and-family-safe-after-fire-at-nashville-home/5516222/ 5516222 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2157530924.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Carrie Underwood is counting her blessings.

The “If I Didn’t Love You” singer and her family — including husband Mike Fisher and sons Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5 — are safe and sound following a structure fire at their Nashville home June 16, her rep confirmed to E! News June 17.

According to the Williamson County Fire and Rescue, they were called in at 9:42 p.m. to put out the fire, with all eight of their stations responding. And they were also able to provide an explanation for the cause in a June 17 press release, stating, “The homeowner reported that a UTV was on fire next to the garage.”

“All occupants in the home were able to escape unharmed,” the press release continued. “No injuries were sustained by the occupants or firefighters on scene.”

Authorities also said they were able to quickly and efficiently extinguish the flames thanks to a “10,000 gallon reservoir on the property.”

Carrie Underwood Through the Years

A spokesperson for Underwood and her family confirmed the fire was “quickly contained” at their property on Sunday.

“There was no fire damage to the primary residence,” the rep told E!, “and the family and their pets were unharmed.”

Underwood — who married Fisher in 2010 — has previously spoken about how important it is for her to have a strong home base to stay connected with her children during her performance schedule.

“We have so many meals together as a family,” the 41-year-old explained on TODAY in September. “It’s not a rule, it’s just what we do. I love it.”

And the “American Idol” alum appreciates how special their home is for her children, noting, “I want them to remember that.”

Hiram Kasten, comedian and ‘Seinfeld' regular, dies at 71 https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/hiram-kasten-comedian-and-seinfeld-regular-dies-at-71/5515508/ 5515508 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-186152597.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Actor Hiram Kasten, who made his mark in stand-up comedy and network TV shows like “Seinfeld,” died in western New York after a prolonged illness, his family said Sunday.

Kasten was 71 when he passed away in Batavia, outside of Buffalo, according to a statement posted on his Facebook page.

“Hiram Kasten loved show business and lived his dream of being in show business,” the family said in a statement announcing his death.

Kasten’s cause of death was not disclosed but the family said he’d been “fighting through a multitude of illnesses” in the past seven years, “including prostate cancer.”

In the past six months, Kasten had been been telling friends he was terminally ill.

“His great comedy and artistic community rallied to his side,” his family said. “Some made trips to Batavia to visit him, late night Zoom meetings with friends on both coasts ensued and went into the wee hours of the morning.”

Kasten, a Bronx native and lifelong Yankees fan, was a mainstay in New York City’s comedy scene throughout the 1980s playing in clubs such as The Comic Strip and Comedy Cellar.

He loved the craft of comedy and would regularly work marathon weekends, doing gigs in far away spots like New Jersey and Staten Island before rushing back to Manhattan for late-night sets.

“It was a big deal to have a show outside of town and then two or three spots in town on the weekend,” according to the Facebook statement. “One could actually make a living, and he did!”

Kasten eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and worked steadily throughout the 90s and early 2000s with credits on “7th Heaven,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Mad About You,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “L.A.Law,” “Seinfeld” and “It’s Like, You Know…”

His “Seinfeld” work came in three episodes in 1993-94 playing a co-worker of Elaine Benes, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Kasten and his wife, Diana Kastenbaum moved to Batavia in 2012 so she could be close to her aging father. She ran for Congress in 2016.

Kasten is survived by his wife and their daughter, Millicent Jade Kastenbaum.

Billy Ray Cyrus files temporary restraining order against ex Firerose https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/billy-ray-cyrus-files-temporary-restraining-order-against-ex-firerose/5519324/ 5519324 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1634727374.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=200,300 Originally appeared on E! Billy Ray Cyrus wants to keep his achy breaky heart far from Johanna “Firerose” Rose Hodges.

The “Old Town Road” singer filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife amid their divorce battle after seven months of marriage, according to court documents obtained by E! News.

Cyrus — who initiated divorce proceedings late last month, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” — electronically filed the order on May 23.

The 62-year-old alleged that in recent weeks, Hodges spent $96,986 on 37 unauthorized charges on his business account, including $70,665 in payments to her attorneys, according to additional documents obtained by People.

“As a result of these fraudulent charges,” Cyrus wrote in his affidavit, according to the outlet, “I am concerned that Ms. Hodges is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts.”

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old’s attorneys rebuked the “Hannah Montana” alum’s statements.

“To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue,” her attorneys wrote in the response filing, the publication reported. “Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”

In the court documents, Cyrus — who tied the knot with Hodges in November—requested an annulment because he alleged that “he gave consent to marriage based on Fraud by the Wife” and added that if “he known he would not have entered into the bonds of matrimony.”

E! News has reached out to Hodges’ attorneys for comment and has not heard back. Cyrus’ reps have declined to comment.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s split comes two years after ex-wife Tish Cyrus filed for divorce. In April 2022, she cited “irreconcilable differences” and noted that the duo hadn’t lived together since February 2020.

Tish Cyrus and Cyrus — who are parents to Miley Cyrus, 29; Braison Cyrus, 27; Noah Cyrus, 22; and Brandi Cyrus, 34; and Trace Cyrus, 33, from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson — were married for 30 years and filed three times since 2010.

Derek Jeter's New York castle may finally have a buyer https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/derek-jeter-property-ny-sale-greenwood-lake/5514120/ 5514120 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/jeter-house.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,173 Former New York Yankees superstar Derek Jeter has found a potential buyer for his New York castle after the sprawling lakefront property had its price tag slashed by more than half.

The property, known as Tiedemann Castle, went into contract with a buyer in late May after the asking price was lowered to $6.3 million.

It was first listed around about six years ago for more than $14 million and had at one point failed to sell at auction.

The home in Greenwood Lake, a bucolic expanse in New York near the New Jersey border, is three parcels with six bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, and includes extensive gardens, a lagoon and an infinity pool, according to the listing.

Diane Mitchell, the listing agent for the property, declined to comment on the pending deal.

Jeter retired from the Yankees in 2014.

Angelina Jolie and daughter Vivienne shut down Tony Awards red carpet https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/angelina-jolie-and-daughter-vivienne-shut-down-tony-awards-red-carpet/5513073/ 5513073 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2157875648.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt just made an award-worthy entrance at the 2024 Tonys.

The actress — who acts as a producer on Broadway’s “The Outsiders” — was joined by her and ex Brad Pitt‘s 15-year-old on the red carpet at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City.

For the event, Jolie — a Tonys presenter — wore a strapless, teal, draped, Grecian-style velvet gown with a matching shawl, while Vivienne (credited as a producer assistant on “The Outsiders”) matched with a white button-down shirt and teal vest and teal pants.

As for how the mom to Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne’s twin Knox, 15, got involved in the Broadway production, which received 12 Tony nominations?

“My daughter Viv loves theater,” Jolie shared with Deadline in an interview published June 10. “She appreciates all theater but she certainly knows what she feels close to and what she responds to.”

As the 49-year-old explained, Vivienne “went to see ‘The Outsiders’ at La Jolla about five times and was telling me about it, and I had read the book, and I’d seen the film years ago.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Kids Through the Years

Thanks to the teen’s influence, Jolie decided to get involved and, in turn, learned more about her daughter.

“It was a very different experience of understanding, of how this is having a significant effect on her as a young person right now, and she’s communicating something to me, and that is the power of this material,” the “Eternals” actress added. “And then I had the privilege of watching everyone work over this last year to make it into what it is, and Vivienne has been there the whole way.”

While her brood tends to stay out of the spotlight, Jolie has offered up rare insight into their lives here and there.

“Viv reminds me of my mother,” Jolie, referencing her late mom Marcheline Bertrand, told E! News in August, “in that she isn’t focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives.”

“She’s very thoughtful and serious about theatre,” the “Maleficent” star continued, “and working hard to best understand how to contribute.”

Sean ‘Diddy' Combs returns key to New York City in response to video of him attacking singer Cassie https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/sean-diddy-returns-key-to-new-york-city/5511280/ 5511280 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2023/09/AP23258656873446.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Sean “ Diddy ” Combs has returned his key to New York City after a request from Mayor Eric Adams in response to the release of a video showing the music mogul attacking R&B singer Cassie, officials said Saturday.

The mayor’s office said Combs returned the key after Adams sent letters to the embattled musician’s offices in New York and California on June 4 rescinding the key and asking for it to be sent back to City Hall. The city received the key June 10.

In his letter, Adams wrote he was “deeply disturbed” by the attack, adding “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.”

Combs’ career has been derailed by numerous accusations of sexual abuse, as well as a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation that led to raids of Combs’ mansions in Los Angeles and Miami.

In May, CNN aired security video of Combs attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles in 2016. Combs has said he is “truly sorry” for the attack on Cassie and called his actions “inexcusable.” Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, sued Combs last year, setting off a wave of increased scrutiny on Combs. That case was settled a day after it was filed.

Adams awarded Combs with the key at a ceremony last year that coincided with the release of a new album.

Howard University this month rescinded an honorary degree awarded to Combs and ended a scholarship program in his name following the release of the video involving Cassie.

Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, is one of the most influential hip-hop producers and executives in the last three decades, turning musical success into a business empire.

An email sent to a representative listed online for Combs was not immediately returned.

Reese Witherspoon's impression of Nicole Kidman at an award gala is spot-on https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/reese-witherspoons-impression-of-nicole-kidman-at-an-award-gala-is-spot-on/5511174/ 5511174 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2150501791.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Reese Witherspoon showed her admiration for longtime pal Nicole Kidman by doing a spot-on impression of the Aussie actor at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award gala in Hollywood in April.

TNT posted a video on X on June 14 that showed Witherspoon giving a speech about her “Big Little Lies” co-star and co-producer, who was honored for her contribution to film at the event. TNT will air the American Film Institute’s tribute to Kidman on June 17.

While at the microphone, Witherspoon imitated Kidman talking enthusiastically about film directors.

“(Kidman) will often say to me of a foreign film I’ve absolutely never heard of — like, y’all, I mean, it’s out there — and she’s like, ‘But do you see that director?’” Witherspoon said, adopting Kidman’s Australian accent.

The “Legally Blonde” franchise star paused as audience members, including Kidman, laughed at her impression.

“‘I mean, it’s incredible,'” Witherspoon continued, still in character as Kidman. “‘Reese, we must get her. We must.'”

TNT wrote in its caption, “Reese Witherspoon does one hell of Nicole Kidman impression.” (TNT also recently shared Meryl Streep impersonating Kidman at the same event.)

Fans on X were also impressed.

“OK Reese, this is scary good,” wrote one user who retweeted the video.

“Wth this is such a good Nicole impression,” wrote another.

Witherspoon and Kidman have been close friends for many years.

“Our paths consistently cross, and that’s one of the things I love about us. We started working together and we went, ‘Okay, from this point on, it’s a lifetime,’” Kidman said of the duo’s bond in a conversation published this month in Vanity Fair.

The two often joke that they will wind up being “old ladies on a porch” singing Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” together, Witherspoon said.

“We were on vacation once and they started playing the music and we got up and sang. We couldn’t remember it,” Witherspoon recalled. “I’m like, ‘Come on,’ We couldn’t remember any of the words. Stevie Nicks would be horrified.”

The pair also confirmed that “Big Little Lies” will return for a third season with author Liane Moriarty, whose 2014 novel of the same name inspired the series, back in the fold.

“We’re moving fast and furious. … We’re in good shape,” said Kidman.

Matt Damon's daughter Isabella's college plans revealed https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/matt-damons-daughter-isabellas-college-plans-revealed/5509529/ 5509529 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2005518701.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Matt Damon is getting ready to downsize the number of kids at home.

After all, the “Oppenheimer” star and wife Luciana Damon‘s daughter Isabella Damon is officially a high school graduate — with plans to continue her education in college.

Come fall, the 18-year-old will be attending New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, according to a public Instagram post shared by her alma mater May 24.

“Congratulations, Bella!” the post read. “Bella, your unique blend of observational wit, thoughtful prose, and unwavering self-assurance has left an indelible mark on our community.”

Praising the teen’s creativity and “fearless individuality,” her high school added, “Your confident embrace of your identity serves as a beacon of inspiration for all of us.”

And for the actor — who also shares daughters Alexia, 24, Gia, 15, and Stella, 13 with Luciana — Isabella serves as his best critic.

“If the reviews come out and they’re terrible, then she’ll watch it,” Damon told to E! News in 2021. “If they come out and they’re good, she’s going to pass.”

Matt Damon’s Best Roles

He added, “She’s looking for ammunition all the time. She’s like one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. She’s really cool.”

And Isabella has found plenty of ammunition over the years, especially when it comes to the Oscar winner’s career.

“She doesn’t want to see any movies that I’m in that she thinks might be good,” he said on “CBS Sunday Mornings” that same year. “She just likes to give me s—.”

And as children often do, she finds exactly the right way to push Damon’s buttons.

“My daughter said, ‘Yeah, remember that movie you did, The Wall?'” Damon recalled. “I said, ‘It was called ‘The Great Wall.” She goes, ‘Dad there’s nothing great about that movie.'”

“The Martian” actor joked, “She keeps my feet firmly on the ground.”

Pope Francis meets more than 100 comedians at the Vatican: ‘You also make God smile' https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/pope-francis-meets-100-comedians-vatican-before-g7-summit/5508625/ 5508625 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP24166296608512.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Before flying to Italy’s southern Puglia region to meet world leaders at the Group of Seven summit, Pope Francis hosted a very different audience at the Vatican on Friday celebrating the importance of humor.

The pontiff welcomed more than 100 comedians from 15 nations, including U.S. celebrities Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Rock, Stephen Colbert and Conan O’Brien.

“In the midst of so much gloomy news, immersed as we are in many social and even personal emergencies, you have the power to spread peace and smiles,” Francis told the comedians.

“You unite people, because laughter is contagious,” he continued, asking jokingly, “Please pray for me: for, not against!”

Francis pointed out that in the creation, “Divine wisdom practiced your art for the benefit of none other than God himself, the first spectator in history,” with God delighting in the works that he had made.

“Remember this,” he added. “When you manage to bring intelligent smiles to the lips of even a single spectator, you also make God smile.”

Francis also said it was OK to “laugh at God” in the same way “we play and joke with the people we love.”

After delivering his speech, Francis greeted all the comedians individually, sharing laughs and jokes with some of them.

“It was great, it was very fast and really loving, and made me happy,” Goldberg said afterward.

O’Brien noted that the pope “spoke in Italian, so I’m not quite sure what was said.”

“To be in that room and to be with all my fellow comedians, some of whom I’ve been good friends with for many years, in that environment, was quite strange,” the TV host added. “All of us were thinking, how did this happen? Why are we here, and when are they going to throw us out?”

Colbert admitted his Italian “is really bad, I would like to speak it better.” But he managed to remind the pope that he had done the audiobook for his memoir.

“It was wonderful, he’ll never forget me,” he joked.

The “High School Musical” alum shared his thoughts on his former costars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale both being pregnant at the same time, and he couldn’t be happier that they’ve found what they’ve been looking for.

“They’re gonna be the best moms ever,” Efron gushed to Access Hollywood at the “A Family Affair” premiere June 13. “Those girls, are you kidding me? We’re gonna have some fun family reunions coming up.”

And while Hudgens — who dated Efron from 2005 to 2010 — is embarking on a brand new journey to motherhood with husband Cole Tucker, Tisdale already shares 3-year-old daughter Jupiter with husband Christopher French. Naturally, the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alum also sent well wishes to her former costar for her first pregnancy.

“It’s very cool!” Tisdale wrote of being pregnant at the same time as Hudgens in an Instagram Story last month. “I’m so excited for her and this new chapter in her life.”

And while Efron indicated the fans can expect to see the “HSM” stars reunite in the future, it’s true the cast, which was attached at the hip during their Disney days has not been as close in recent years.

“I haven’t seen her in a long time,” Tisdale admitted of Hudgens during a March episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” “Obviously, she’s working, I’m working. I have a daughter. So it’s like, you know, she has a full-time job.”

As for Hudgens and Efron? “The Princess Switch” star has commented on the impact her past relationships with Efron, and Austin Butler — whom she dated from 2011 to 2020 — have had on her.

“The public only sees so much,” Hudgens noted to Nylon in 2022. “I’ve also been through two very long life-changing relationships, and no one really knows what happened except for me.”

Of course, Hudgens does plan to open up further about that time in her life eventually. In fact, you can bet on it.

“When I write my memoir,” she posited. “It’ll be amazing.”

Jesse Plemons addresses Ozempic rumors amid weight loss journey https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/jesse-plemons-addresses-ozempic-rumors-amid-weight-loss-journey/5506661/ 5506661 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2153639948.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! For Jesse Plemons, having clears eyes and a full heart can help lose weight.

After all, the “Friday Night Lights” alum was able to slim down by fully committing to a lifestyle change—and not turning to Ozempic, a type 2 diabetes medication many in Hollywood have been using to drop the pounds due to its appetite-reducing properties.

“It’s really unfortunate that I decided to get healthy when everyone decided to take Ozempic,” Plemons told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published June 13. “It doesn’t matter, everyone’s going to think I took Ozempic anyways.”

When E! News reached out for comment last year, a rep for the manufacturer Novo Nordisk said Ozempic is “not approved for chronic weight management.”

So, what sparked his wellness journey? His role in “Civil War,” which his wife Kirsten Dunst — with whom he shares sons Ennis, 6, and James, 3 — offered him last-minute due to an actor dropping out of the project. As Plemons told LAT, “I hate even getting specific because then it turns into a whole thing, but there was a part that I did that, in my mind, I could not imagine him as the size that I was.”

In addition to researching about soldier behavior, the 36-year-old did an overhaul on his diet.

“Several people talked to me about intermittent fasting and I just gave it a shot,” Plemons shared, explaining how he was “surprised at how quickly it was effective.”

And after filming in the dystopian thriller, the “Breaking Bad” actor found himself “in the rhythm” and kept on losing weight.

“I was feeling better, and something shifted in my head,” he said. “I just sort of got a handle on it.”

Intermittent fasting is a time-restricted diet that limits eating to certain parts of the day or week, according to the Mayo Clinic. Celebrities who’ve dabbled in the method include Kourtney Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Halle Berry, Chris Pratt and Guy Fieri.

Tony Bennett's daughters sue their brother over his accounting of late singer's assets https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/tony-bennetts-daughters-sue-their-brother-over-assets/5506143/ 5506143 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP24165861302288.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,199 Tony Bennett’s two daughters are suing their brother, alleging he mishandled and failed to disclose some of their father’s assets in his role as trustee of the late singer‘s estate.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in New York by Antonia and Johanna Bennett accuses D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett of not accounting for all of the proceeds from this year’s sale of Tony Bennett’s catalog and certain image rights to the brand development firm Iconoclast.

The court filing claims that “it remains unclear what music assets (and other property) were or were not sold as part of the deal” because the sisters “have not been provided with various details of the transaction despite repeated requests.”

Danny Bennett, who was the singer’s manager and runs the family trust, didn’t respond Thursday to an email and phone message seeking comment on the lawsuit. Another brother, Daegal “Dae” Bennett, and Tony’s widow, Susan Benedetto, were also named in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit further alleges that Danny Bennett “obtained personal benefits for himself and his company” from transactions, including the sale of memorabilia, made on behalf of Tony Bennett, the family trust and Benedetto Arts LLC.

The sisters are seeking unspecified “equitable relief” as well as a full accounting and inventory of the trust. It demands Danny Bennett turn over receipts, disbursements, expenditures and tax returns.

“Although Danny and his counsel have provided piecemeal information and produced some documents to petitioners’ counsel, the information provided raises more questions than answers and fails to provide anything close to an accounting of Tony’s assets and financial affairs,” the court filing said.

Tony Bennett, a legendary interpreter of classic American songs who created new standards such as “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” died last July at age 96. There was no specific cause, but Bennett had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.

Bennett released more than 70 albums, bringing him 19 competitive Grammys.

Kevin Spacey admits to ‘being too handsy,' says he's broke due to legal fees in interview https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/kevin-spacey-admits-to-being-too-handsy-says-hes-broke-due-to-legal-fees-in-interview/5502725/ 5502725 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP23207543119515.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Actor Kevin Spacey, who fell from public grace following sexual assault and misconduct allegations that exploded in 2017, admitted in a rare interview Tuesday that he was “pushing the boundaries” and “being too handsy” with people in the past.

The 64-year-old broke down in tears during the interview aired Tuesday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” revealing he’s on the brink of bankruptcy and will lose his Baltimore home after racking up millions in legal debt.

The double-Oscar winner fell from Hollywood’s peak, getting fired from his starring role as Frank Underwood in the hit Netflix series “House of Cards,” after actor Anthony Rapp accused him in October 2017 of making a sexual advance when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Spacey was then plunged into the throes of the #MeToo movement.

He was accused in 2017 of groping an 18-year-old at a Massachusetts bar in 2016, but charges were dropped in 2019 when prosecutors withdrew the case after the accuser refused to testify.

Rapp sued Spacey for sexual assault and sexual battery in September 2020. Two years later in federal civil court, Spacey was found not liable on all counts.

Last year, Spacey was found not guilty in a U.K. court of sexually assaulting four men while he was the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theater. In that case, he was acquitted of nine counts on charges that dated from 2004 to 2013.

Spacey will face a civil trial in the U.K. next year after he was sued by a man who claims the actor sexually assaulted him.

‘I will never behave in the ways that I did previously, ever’

Spacey admitted in the interview with Morgan that he had participated in “bad behavior” by “touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time they didn’t want.”

Morgan challenged that some would consider that groping.

“I agree that the word ‘grope’ is a very odd word. I personally, I have caressed people. I have been gentle with people. That is the way that I am. You’re making a pass at someone, you don’t want to be aggressive, you want to be gentle and see if they’re going to respond positively. I think the word itself is not a word that I associate with my experience,” he said.

Morgan asked of those experiences were consensual or if they were repelled and considered nonconsensual by recipients.

“Then they should let you know they don’t want to do it, so that you can understand it’s non-consensual, and stop,” Spacey said.

Morgan challenged him that given his position in Hollywood, if he had pursued younger, less experienced actors, recipients may not be honest about consent given power dynamics.

“Yes, and again, recognizing that, understanding that and making a vow that that will never happen again for the rest of my life. I will never behave in the ways that I did previously, ever,” Spacey said.

Falling into a ‘dark’ place

Spacey revealed that, following the 2017 allegations, there were “a couple of times when it was very dark and when I was at my lowest.”

He responded to the Rapp allegations in a statement in which he also came out as gay, which in hindsight he said was “a bad statement.”

“I should have made separate statements about my sexuality and about his accusation,” Spacey said.

“I suppose that the only thing I can hope is that now that we were able to prove in a federal court in 2022 that the accusation by Anthony Rapp had never happened, did not occur, that people will understand that I was coming from a place where in my heart of hearts I didn’t believe it had happened,” he told Morgan. “I was a little bit pushed into the corner.”

The actor explained that prior to the allegations he had been fiercely private about speaking on his personal life and sexuality.

“It’s just been unusual for me to find myself in a place where I am okay with having conversations about things that for a very long time I was so determined and kept people away, that I kind of feel like now I have nothing to hide and now I want to live a more open life than the one I did,” Spacey told Morgan.

Following the allegations he went to the therapy, and after being in multiple programs he said, “I absolutely believe I’m a better person.”

“There were bouts with arrogance. There were bouts with ego,” he reflected. “I’m enormously grateful that my focus has shifted. My goal is no longer to be the best actor, and it was, my goal now is to be a man of good character.”

Bankruptcy and debt

Spacey broke down as he revealed his house in Baltimore is being foreclosed on.

“My house is being sold at auction. So I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage … I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now,” he said, noting he moved to Baltimore in 2012 for the shooting of “House of Cards.”

When Morgan asked, “Why is it being foreclosed?” Spacey responded: “Because I can’t pay the bills that I owe,” noting he faces “many millions” in legal bills.

Spacey said there’s been a couple of times when he thought he’d file for bankruptcy — “but we’ve sort of managed to sort of dodge it. At least as of today.”

“What are you gonna do?” Morgan asked.

“Get back on the horse,” Spacey replied.

Rapper Enchanting dead at 26 https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/rapper-enchanting-dead-at-26/5501774/ 5501774 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/enchanting-1.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Originally appeared on E! Online

The hip-hop community is mourning a tragic loss.

Enchanting — a rising rapper formerly signed to Gucci Mane‘s 1017 Records—has died, her close friend and collaborator Lil CJ Kasino confirmed on social media. She was 26.

“They Pulled The Plug Bro This S–t So F–ked Up,” Kasino wrote in a June 11 Instagram post. “I Just Knew You was Finna Pull Threw. You gone Forever.”

Recalling all the hours they spent making music together at his studio, he added, “You Went Way Further Than Us I Always Told You How Proud I Was Of You.”

A cause of death was not disclosed, but news of the “No Luv” rapper’s passing came a few days after it was reported by multiple outlets that she had been placed on life support.

Alongside the message, Kasino also shared a photo of Enchanting — real name Channing Nicole Larry — sitting in a recording booth.

Celebrity Deaths: 2024’s Fallen Stars

Raised primarily between Fort Worth, Texas, and Atlanta, Enchanting got her start in music at age 18 and began pursuing a career in hip-hop following her high school graduation. In 2020, she signed to Mane’s 1017 Records and appeared on three compilation albums before parting ways with the label.

In addition, she also released two full-length albums — 2022’s “No Luv” and 2023’s “Luv Scarred / No Luv” — before parting ways with the label.

“Staying in the studio and constantly recording, it helps me find the style I can be good at,” she shared in her artist’s profile on the 1017 Records website. “It’s like Trap-n-Blues.”

But music wasn’t just a form of self-expression for Enchanting. As she noted, “Other people can relate to the things I say. I might help somebody through any situation, they can listen to me and find peace.”

Following news of her death, fellow artists shared heartfelt tributes to the rapper, including Lakeyah, Ericka Banks and Gucci himself.

“So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady,” Gucci wrote in a June 11 Instagram post, “a true star we gone all miss you Chant.”

The Apollo Theater celebrates 90th anniversary with star-studded spring benefit https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/the-apollo-theater-celebrates-90th-anniversary-with-star-studded-spring-benefit/5500346/ 5500346 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP24163542823821.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,210

What to Know

The Apollo Theater, a bastion of Black music and culture and one of New York City’s most storied venues, celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

On Tuesday, the historic theater held its annual spring benefit — its largest annual fundraising effort, this year raising $3 million — with a star-studded event featuring Usher, Babyface, Big Daddy Kane, Jordin Sparks and more.

Sparks opened the night with an impressive medley of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” Aretha Franklin’s “Respect,” and Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman.” Then Kym Whitley emerged as a hilarious host, joking about the producer Babyface, who was being honored, arguing that he should now be known as “Grown-man-face, sexy-face, kiss-your-face.”

Later, she’d offer her own transformative story at The Apollo, sharing with the audience that it was on that stage where she first made an appearance as a stand-up comedian on television. “If you can make it at The Apollo,” she said, “You can make it anywhere.”

Speeches were given by a number of Apollo representatives, including President/CEO Michelle Ebanks, chairman of the board Charles Phillips, executive producer Kamilah Forbes as well as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

But it was the performances that really got the crowd on their feet. Dancers treated Usher to a choreographed medley of his own songs, from “Yeah!” to “Burn,” “Caught Up” to “Confessions Part II” and beyond.

Usher, who just a few months ago wowed audiences with his own career retrospective while headlining the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, was presented with the Icon Award.

In his speech, he recalled watching “Showtime at The Apollo” with his late grandmother. “I remember thinking, ‘Man, someday I’m gonna make it to that stage,’ and ‘hopefully one day, I’ll get a standing ovation,’” he said as everyone in the audience stood. “I stand before you humbled by your appreciation.”

“You know, they say if you make it in New York, you can make it anywhere,” he continued, referencing Whitley’s comments from earlier. “Well, if you can make it to The Apollo, you can do anything.”

Fat Joe and Kwanza Jones, formerly winners of The Apollo’s famed Amateur Night, came out and led the crowd in a singalong of Babyface’s 1989 hit, “Soon as I Get Home.” They were tasked with introducing the super-producer, who had been presented the day prior with the inaugural legacy award at The Apollo Theater’s 2024 Walk of Fame ceremony.

“I never imagined I would get this,” Babyface said during Monday’s ceremony. “I never saw myself actually, you know, being here at The Apollo. I didn’t want to perform here because I didn’t want to get booed, but I didn’t get booed,” he laughed. “I’m so glad that I came here for The Apollo.”

On Tuesday, his acceptance speech mostly ditched the jokes to express gratitude. “To be here at The Apollo — what’s so hard for me to find the words, because if I’m honest, I just never saw myself as like being on The Apollo stage. I was always the guy behind the scenes and writing songs for everyone else,” he said. “I am just in awe to be considered as part of this.”

“I’m just going to thank everybody. Normally I stand up here, I’m funnier than this,” he continued, “Usually, I am. But I’m just, I’m really just so taken by this, and I just want to thank you for the bottom of my heart. I appreciate it.”

The night ended with a series of singers coming out on stage to serenade Babyface with some of the most famous songs he produced: Toxi Braxton ‘s “You Mean the World to Me,” Eric Clapton’s “Change the World,” Whitney Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and so on.

Standouts included Karyn White doing her own “Superwoman,” Johnny Gill getting everyone out of their seats for his “My, My, My” and of course, Babyface himself closing the night out with “Whip Appeal.” They’re called classics for a reason.

Rihanna reveals the ‘stunning' actress she'd have play her in a biopic https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/rihanna-reveals-the-stunning-actress-shed-have-play-her-in-a-biopic/5502546/ 5502546 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1455632213.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,197 Originally appeared on E! Rihanna loves Taylor Russell, bones and all.

Indeed, the “Love on the Brain” singer recently couldn’t help but gush over the Canadian actress, and even has her in mind to play her in a future biopic.

“Taylor [Russell],” Rihanna immediately told E! News’ Justin Sylvester at the launch for Fenty Hair June 10 when asked who could step into her shoes for a film. “Because she’s got a nice forehead and she’s fly and I feel like I want to be her, so I want her to pretend to be me.”

And Rihanna—who shares sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 10 months, with partner A$AP Rocky—believes that Russell is the only girl in the world who could capture her essence.

“I want people to see me in that light,” she continued. “Just gorgeous, she’s stunning.”

Russell—who was recently linked to Harry Styles before their split last month—may indeed have the je ne sais quoi that takes to play Rihanna.

And while the “Bones and All” star—who got into acting at 18 after switching gears from dreams of being a ballet dancer—wasn’t around to confirm or deny if she’d be interested in taking on such an iconic part, there’s a chance that she would be ready to work.

As she’s said of accepting parts before to Vogue, “I just want to be challenged and do things I’ve never done before.”

Plus, when it comes to belting some of Rihanna’s hits, the 29-year-old also has some experience singing, too.

“I sang, when I was 13 in front of my whole school, a Destiny’s Child song,” she explained to W in 2023. “I don’t know why I decided to do that because it was really embarrassing. I wasn’t into it at that moment, I would do it now, though.”

Kevin Jonas is providing insight into his personal health.
The Jonas Brothers member shared that he was diagnosed with skin cancer after discovering a malignant mole on his forehead.

“So today,” he explained in a video shared to his Instagram June 11, “I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head.”

Basal Cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that “occurs most often on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck,” according to the Mayo Clinic.

In the video, Jonas could be seen panning to a small mole and explaining, “Yes, that is a actual little skin cancer guy that just started to grow. And now, I have to get surgery to remove it. So, here we go.”

The “Waffle House” singer didn’t give his followers a final look at the mole post-surgery, but he did appear shocked by what he saw under the bandages.

“All right, I’m all done,” Jonas said following the procedure. “Now, it’s time to heal and home.”

Four Tops singer says hospital put him in straightjacket after not believing he was in Four Tops https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/four-tops-singer-says-hospital-put-him-in-straightjacket/5498184/ 5498184 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1168699852.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 The lead singer of Motown’s legendary Four Tops has sued a Michigan hospital claiming racial discrimination after staff assumed he was “delusional” when he said he was in the group and placed him in a restraining jacket.

Alexander Morris, 53, who is Black and joined the iconic vocal quartet in 2018, went to Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan, on April 7, 2023 with “clear symptoms of cardiac distress.”

He had difficulty breathing and chest pain, and was placed on oxygen, the lawsuit filed Monday in the eastern district of Michigan said.

However, when he informed a nurse and security guard in the emergency room that he was a member of Four Tops and had security concerns due to stalkers and fans, they didn’t believe him. Instead, a doctor ordered he receive a psychological evaluation, and he was restrained for at least an hour and a half.

The suit accuses the hospital and two staffers — a nurse and a security guard — of negligence, racial discrimination, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Morris had a “significant known history of cardiac disease,” including the placement of stints and defibrillator, the suit said.

During his hospitalization, he was ultimately diagnosed “with a heart infraction that may require a heart transplant, pneumonia, and he suffered three seizures during his stay.”

However, his treatment was delayed because hospital staffers didn’t believe his claim that he was part of the famed Four Tops group.

After check-in, a nurse, a white security guard and a white male emergency room doctor “racially profiled him” and “wrongfully assumed he was mentally ill when he revealed his identity as a celebrity figure,” the complaint said.

He was told he’d get a psychological evaluation “because they did not believe he was a singer or member of the Four Tops.”

Hospital staff decided to remove him from oxygen and pursued a psychiatric evaluation instead of considering Morris’ symptoms and significant medical history, the filing said.

The suit said a security guard was instructed to ensure Morris was placed into a restraining jacket and removed of his belongings.

Morris asked if he could prove his identity by showing his identification card, and the white male security guard ordered him to “sit his Black ass down,” the complaint said. Despite the comment, none of the nursing staff intervened to stop the racial discrimination, the filing said.

The suit said that Morris was ignored when he told staff he was struggling to breathe and requested the oxygen back. He was also allegedly ignored when he asked for the restraint device to be removed and to get his belongings back so he could seek treatment at another hospital.

He was told he was not free to leave; thus, he was falsely imprisoned and deprived of his personal property. During this time his medical condition continuously declined and he was denied the medical treatment he desperately needed,” the suit said.

Morris’ wife came to the nursing station to collect his belongings and saw what was happening, according to the filing.

She informed one of the security officers that he actually was a member of the Four Tops. A nurse came to Morris’ side and he asked to show the nurse a video of him performing at the Grammys. It was then that the nurse realized he actually was a member of Four Tops and informed the emergency room doctor. When the doctor returned, he said he was cancelling the psychological evaluation.

The restraint jacket was finally removed and Morris was placed back on oxygen after being restrained for “approximately an hour and a half or 90 minutes,” the complaint said.

Morris was offered a $25 gift card to Meijer as an apology, which he refused.

The ordeal delayed Morris’ treatment despite his severe condition and caused him “severe mental and psychological suffering,” the suit said.

The suit alleges racial discrimination, violation of civil rights, negligence, gross negligence, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, violation of the Disabilities Act.

It seeks an excess of $75,000 in damages and demands a jury by trial.

An Ascension Hospital spokesperson said Tuesday: “We do not condone racial discrimination of any kind. We will not comment on pending litigation.”

“The health, safety and well-being of our patients, associates and community members remains our top priority. We remain committed to honoring human dignity and acting with integrity and compassion for all persons and the community,” the spokesperson added.

NBC News has reached out to attorneys for Morris for comment.

YouTube star Ben Potter, who ran the channel ‘Comicstorian,' dies in ‘unfortunate accident,' wife says https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/youtube-star-ben-potter-dies/5498049/ 5498049 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1398387345-e1718137744558.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 YouTube star Ben Potter, who had over 3 million subscribers on his channel “Comicstorian,” where he shared opinions on the latest comic-inspired movies, has died following a tragic accident, his wife announced.

Potter, 40, passed away Saturday in an “unfortunate accident,” his wife, Nathalie Potter, shared on the channel’s X account, without disclosing the nature of the accident.

Potter started the “Comicstorian” channel back in 2014, posting audio dramas to comic books. Potter’s latest video was posted Friday, one day before his passing, and raked up nearly 200,000 views.

“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine,” Nathalie Potter wrote on X.

“He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it,” she continued, adding, “He was my world.”

Nathalie Potter asked for privacy as the family grieves their loss together.

“Right now my priority is preserving everything he’s built and I don’t have any plans beyond that,” she explained.

Nathalie said her husband’s YouTube channel was “one of his greatest accomplishments.”

“Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube,” she said.

Nathalie said she and Potter’s team want to keep the channel going in his honor “by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.”

“We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now,” she concluded.

The post was met with a slew of condolences and tributes for Potter.

“So sorry for your loss..I got to speak to Benny many times thru gaming and his love of comics. Such a bright spirit,” one X user wrote.

“This hurts a lot, Comicstorian was my gateway into comics and hearing Benny past away tragically makes me so sad. I started watching his content in 2016 and have still been watching to this day. Hope you and friends nothing but the best of recoveries,” another fan wrote.

“Incredibly heart breaking, Comicstorian was an absolutely incredible YouTuber that pioneered so much and got so many people into reading comics. Devastating news. Rest in peace,” another added.

See Isabella Strahan celebrate finishing chemotherapy for brain cancer https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/see-isabella-strahan-celebrate-finishing-chemotherapy-for-brain-cancer/5495152/ 5495152 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/03/GettyImages-1246481851-e1710457308387.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,217 Originally appeared on E! Isabella Strahan has a lot to celebrate.

The 19-year-old just experienced another important milestone in her journey battling medulloblastoma: the end of her chemotherapy treatment.

“Just finished chemo,” Michael Strahan‘s daughter wrote in a June 8 TikTok video, which she captioned, “Did it.”

In the 10-second video, Isabella and her twin sister Sophia Strahan name dance to Bryson Tiller’s “Let ‘Em Know” in a hospital, with Isabella donning a special, celebratory golden crown.

Isabella’s update comes two months after she shared that instead of going through the originally planned six rounds of chemotherapy for her brain cancer, she would only undergo four.

“These are happy tears,” she said in the video posted April 10. “It’s not even considering crying when it’s happy tears.”

The University of Southern California student was especially grateful that the change in her treatment plan would allow her experience summer vacation.

Michael Strahan’s Family Tree

“I can kind of try and have a summer to feel better,” she explained. “And I’m so happy cause I thought I’d be done at the end of July. I was supposed to do six rounds in total. And then I really would just have to go straight back to school. I’m so happy.”

Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October and underwent emergency brain surgery a day before her 19th birthday that same month. Since then, she has undergone two more surgeries in addition to her chemotherapy treatments.

And because Isabella spent her birthday unconscious following her surgery, her friends and family recently held a re-do celebration complete with homemade cupcakes.

“We’re doing a little birthday celebration because I was not conscious for it,” she shared with a laugh in a May 28 vlog posted on YouTube. “Happy birthday!”

The YouTuber had a positive update after finishing her second round of chemotherapy, sharing that she would only have to undergo two more rounds of instead of the originally scheduled four.

“These are happy tears,” she said in a video posted April 10. “It’s not even considering crying when it’s happy tears.”

However, Isabella hit a bump in the road in her treatment plan when she had to undergo a third craniotomy. According to the teen, this procedure was unlike anything she had previously experienced.

“Not going to lie, I’ve been crying a lot,” she detailed in an April 12 vlog. “They sunk a needle in three spots and drained fluid, and I was completely awake for this. So, my first completely awake surgery.”

Khloe Kardashian reveals surprising word son Tatum has learned to say https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/khloe-kardashian-reveals-surprising-word-son-tatum-has-learned-to-say/5493451/ 5493451 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1241337637.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,219 Originally appeared on E! Khloe Kardashian’s son Tatum Thompson is expanding his vocabulary.

As the reality star revealed on June 6 episode of “The Kardashians,” her and ex Tristan Thompson’s 22-month-old has learned to use the word “guncle” as a term of endearment for her hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons.

“He keeps calling me ‘dad’ because I guess I look like a basketball player,” Fitzsimons quipped, explaining how the toddler came to understand the portmanteau of the words “gay” and “uncle.”

“But I was like, ‘guncle,’ and he was like, ‘guncle,'” he continued of Tatum. “I’m so proud of him.”

Elsewhere on the episode, Kardashian opened up about her co-parenting dynamic with Thompson — with whom she also shares 6-year-old daughter True Thompson — after his move to Ohio for work.

“Now that he’s in Cleveland, this is really, really healthy for us,” the Good American founder shared in a confessional. “When Tristan was next door, he still was always over like, ‘I wanna put the kids to sleep.'”

And for Kardashian, she prefers the kids keep to a routine.

“I don’t want anyone stopping my routine,” the 39-year-old explained. “I’m in my rhythm.”

As for her relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers player? She shut down any speculation that she’ll rekindle their romance, saying, “The door is closed.”

“I feel like everyone has been really judge-y about how I spend my time because I’m not dating, because I stopped dating Tristan when Tatum was in utero,” she added in a confessional, noting how she has no current interest in pursuing any relationship. “I’m exhausted. I don’t want anything. I actually just want to lay in bed, watch my shows, decompress, get up and do my workout.”

New episodes of “The Kardashians” air Thursday on Hulu.

Jason Kelce calls brother Travis' new level of fame with Taylor Swift ‘crazy': ‘You can't be a normal person' https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/jason-kelce-calls-brother-travis-new-level-of-fame-with-taylor-swift-crazy-you-cant-be-a-normal-person/5492053/ 5492053 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image-2-2.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Jason Kelce opened up about how his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift has taken attention on their family to “another level.”

The former Philadelphia Eagles center, who announced his retirement from the NFL on March, appeared on the “Whiskey Ginger” podcast on June 7.

During the episode, he spoke to host Andrew Santino about the newfound attention on his family, including his wife, Kylie Kelce, and their three daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett.

When the host pointed out that the Kelce family, including his parents Ed and Donna Kelce, had become “such a fixture” in pop culture, Kelce said, “It’s been crazy. Travis and Taylor have taken it to another level.”

“That’s a whole other side of it,” Kelce added. “Kylie and I think we have it bad and then we go hang out with one of them for a second. This is a whole other situation here…You can’t be a normal person at that point.”

Earlier in the podcast, the host joked that Kylie Kelce was “arguably more famous” than her husband, to which the potential future sportscaster agreed and added, “Yeah, she should be.”

Kelce cited the 2023 Prime Video documentary “Kelce” as another pivotal moment for added attention on his family, explaining that Kylie Kelce was “a little bit uncomfortable” with “how much it’s become.”

“Our family’s out there, people know what our kids look like,” he said. “We’ve tried to retract from that a little bit. But I think she enjoys that fact that she gets to go and do charitable outings, she gets to give back to the community, she gets to do clinics with little girls with field hockey.”

Kelce said that his wife “enjoys that aspect” of fame but is more “hesitant” to other areas, noting that “it’s hard to always be available.”

“I think more often than not, it’s such an awesome interaction whenever you’re doing that stuff,” Kelce explained. “The vast majority of people are beyond respectful and appreciative. You realize that we’re in a position of great fortune to be where we’re at and it’s all because of these people that are really, really big fans.”

Kelce’s younger brother Travis Kelce opened up about his life in the spotlight during a June interview with ABC News, telling the outlet, “When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier.

“I’ve always been a very grounded guy, you know, it might not come off like that when I’m playing football, but off the field, I just want to be a genuine person,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end added. “I try not to get too far down the road, because you just never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

While the heightened attention on the Kelce family has brought along new opportunities, not all moments have been positive.

Back in May, the mayor of a town in New Jersey issued a public apology to Jason and Kylie Kelce after a video of an apparent altercation between a woman and Kylie Kelce was circulated online.

In February, Kelce appeared on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast,“The Big Podcast with Shaq,” and discussed some of the “drawbacks” his brother has had to deal with, including having to “completely move out of his house.”

He explained that at his brother’s previous home, “people were just staying by his house,” so he moved for “safety reasons.”

“The first day he moved in the new house, a gated community, somebody knocks on the back door — a window — of the house,” Kelce said.

Howard University cuts ties with Sean ‘Diddy' Combs after video of attack on Cassie https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/howard-university-cuts-ties-with-sean-diddy-combs/5491322/ 5491322 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/AP24160738273793.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,208 Howard University is cutting ties to Sean “Diddy” Combs, rescinding an honorary degree that was awarded to him and disbanding a scholarship program in his name, after a recently released 2016 video that appeared to show him attacking the R&B singer Cassie.

“Mr. Combs’ behavior as captured in a recently released video is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University’s core values and beliefs that he is deemed no longer worthy to hold the institution’s highest honor,” a statement from the university’s Board of Trustees said.

The statement said the board voted unanimously Friday to accept the return of the honorary degree Combs received in 2014. “This acceptance revokes all honors and privileges associated with the degree. Accordingly, the Board has directed that his name be removed from all documents listing honorary degree recipients of Howard University,” it said.

The board also directed university administrators to cut financial ties to Combs, including returning a $1 million contribution, ending the scholarship program and dissolving a 2023 pledge agreement with the Sean Combs Foundation.

An email seeking comment was sent to a Combs spokesperson by The Associated Press on Saturday.

Combs admitted last month that he beat his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway in 2016 after CNN released video of the attack. In a video statement posted on social media, he said he was “truly sorry” and his actions were “inexcusable.”

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” Combs said.

A lawsuit filed last year by Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, set off a wave of similar cases and public allegations against Combs. That lawsuit was settled.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri reveals her college plans https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/tom-cruise-and-katie-holmes-daughter-suri-reveals-her-college-plans/5488629/ 5488629 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image_c91810.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Originally appeared on E! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ newest mission: college.

And it seems Suri Cruise already has big plans for her college years with a TikTok from a classmate revealing where she is headed in the fall.

In a video shared on TikTok May 20 with the caption “LaG commitment day,” Suri and her friends celebrated which schools they would headed to in the fall, showing off their college sweaters in the video set to the Hannah Montana song “I’ll Always Remember You.” And the 18-year-old could be seen sporting a red Carnegie Mellon University sweater while making silly faces for the camera and doing a cute dance with her friends.

And while Holmes — who split with Tom in 2012 — has expressed her desire to keep Suri out of the spotlight she has reflected on their life together. And for the “Batman Begins” actress, letting Suri have a private life was important because she was “so visible at a young age.”

A Guide to Tom Cruise’s Family

“I really like to protect her,” the 45-year-old told Glamour last year. “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”

And it also meant a lot to the “Dawson’s Creek” alum to have Suri sing and do background vocals on her recent projects, 2022’s “Alone Together” and 2023’s “Rare Objects.”

“I hope she always does something on my films,” Holmes said. “I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people.”

She added, “It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she’s my heart.”

Céline Dion says singing with stiff person syndrome is ‘like somebody is strangling you' https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/celine-dion-says-singing-with-stiff-person-syndrome-is-like-somebody-is-strangling-you/5488594/ 5488594 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/celine-dion-hoda-kotb-mc-240606-02-8f9272.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,170 Céline Dion is shedding light on her health and how seriously her stiff person syndrome has affected her ability to sing.

In her first broadcast interview since she revealed in 2022 that she has the rare neurological condition, the Canadian superstar spoke with Hoda Kotb for an upcoming primetime special about what it’s like to try to sing with it.

“It’s like somebody is strangling you,” Dion said in an excerpt of their conversation that aired on June 7 on TODAY. “It’s like somebody is pushing your larynx/pharynx this way.”

Dion then raised her voice.

“It was like talking like that, and you cannot go high or lower,” she demonstrated. “It gets into a spasm.”

Dion, 56, first shared in December 2022 that she has stiff person syndrome. The disorder not only causes stiffness in the torso and limbs, but it also can produce intense muscle spasms, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

She said in a May 23 interview with Vogue that she first began noticing symptoms while on tour in 2008.

“Quite rapidly, I was having difficulty controlling my voice,” Dion said.

The singer told Hoda that she first began feeling it in her throat and initially thought, “OK, that’s going to be fine.”

However, the muscle spasms and stiffness in her hands and feet soon became a serious issue.

“It can also be in the abdominal, can be in the spine, can be in the ribs,” Dion said. “But it feels like if I point my feet, they will stay in a (stuck position), or if I cook — because I love to cook — my fingers, my hands, will get in a position.”

“My feet — it’s cramping, but it’s like in a position of you cannot unlock them.”

The muscle spasms are so severe they can cause serious injuries.

“I have broken ribs at one point because sometimes, when it’s very severe, it can break some ribs as well,” Dion said.

The condition caused her to cancel her Las Vegas residency in 2021 and her recent Courage World Tour.

She told Vogue France in April that she receives therapy five days a week for stiff person syndrome, working everything from her toes and knees to her voice. The “Titanic” songstress said she doesn’t know if she’ll be able to perform again.

“I can’t answer that. … Because for four years I’ve been saying to myself that I’m not going back, that I’m ready, that I’m not ready. .. As things stand, I can’t stand here and say to you: ‘Yes, in four months,'” she told Vogue France.

She expands on that topic and more in her full interview with Hoda, which airs June 11 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Dion also gives a glimpse of her life with stiff person syndrome in the documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” which will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 25.

Pat Sajak's first post-‘Wheel of Fortune' job is not what you'd expect https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/pat-sajaks-first-post-wheel-of-fortune-job/5487429/ 5487429 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1236058193-e1717789543199.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Pat Sajak may be leaving his longstanding “Wheel of Fortune” hosting gig, but the TV personality doesn’t seem eager to slow down anytime soon.

After more than 40 years of hosting the game show, Sajak is taking on a project of a different pace: a starring role in a play called “Prescription: Murder.”

Per the Hawaii Theatre Center, Sajak will appear alongside his “long-time buddy,” Hawaii newscaster Joe Moore, in the onstage production. The theater describes the play as a “theatrical predecessor” to and “inspiration” for the TV series “Columbo.”

Sajak, 77, will play a “brilliant psychiatrist” who plots to murder his “neurotic and possessive wife” (played by Amy K. Sullivan) with the help of his mistress (played by Therese Olival). To achieve their goal, the pair will rely on a “bizarre impersonation to create a perfect alibi.”

Moore will play Lt. Columbo, who is “assigned to the case and engages the psychiatrist in a cat-and-mouse battle of wits right up till the play’s surprising climax.”

Moore’s son Bryce will also star as the assistant district attorney, who is a personal friend of Sajak’s character. Others involved in the production include Aiko Chinen and director Rob Duval.

Sajak’s fans will have to wait a while to see him appear in “Prescription: Murder.” The play will debut on July 31, 2025, and run through Aug. 10.

VIP tickets will provide guests a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with the stars, along with an autographed playbill. Net proceeds will support the Hawaii Theatre Center.

“Prescription: Murder” is hardly Sajak’s first foray into the world of theater. Per Variety, this will be the ninth play the TV host has starred in with Moore. The friends have performed in many of them at the Hawaii Theatre.

Sajak announced his departure from “Wheel of Fortune” in June 2023.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all,” he wrote on X at the time.

The TV host’s final episode will air on June 7. In a farewell message, he expressed his gratitude for the show’s viewers.

“It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade. And I’ve always felt that the privilege came with a responsibility to keep this daily half-hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game,” he said in a preview clip shared by the show.

Sajak went on to describe how the show evolved over time.

“But gradually it became more than that, a place where kids learn their letters, where people from other countries honed their English skills, where families came together, along with friends and neighbors and entire generations,” he said.

The veteran TV personality ended his message by saying, “What an honor to have played even a small part in all that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives.”

Billy Ray Cyrus shares emotional message to Miley Cyrus amid alleged family rift https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/billy-ray-cyrus-shares-emotional-message-to-miley-cyrus-amid-alleged-family-rift/5488729/ 5488729 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image-26.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Originally appeared on E! Billy Ray Cyrus is remembering when Miley Cyrus used to be young.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer took a stroll down memory lane when he shared a throwback picture of him and Miley, reminiscing on the moment it was taken.

“One of my best memories ever: @cma Fest, back when it was Fan Fair,” he began his June 7 post, which featured a framed photo of him holding a young Miley, over two handwritten pages. “That’s @mileycyrus and me, surrounded by thousands of incredible fans at the fairgrounds. The next day, someone handed me this picture, and I wrote that poem right then on the bus.”

In addition to looking back on the moment, Ray Cyrus also celebrated her current successes.

“I’m incredibly proud of her,” he continued. “She’s a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible. We both cherish the connection we have with our fans and are grateful for every single one of you!”

The 62-year-old’s poignant post comes amid an alleged ongoing rift in the Cyrus family. In the two years since his divorce from ex-wife Trish Cyrus after almost 30 years of marriage, his relationship with Miley has appeared to grow estranged.

Photos: 30 Fascinating Facts About Miley Cyrus

In fact, the father-daughter relationship in recent years has been a far cry from their closeness as costars on “Hannah Montana,” according to a source close to Miley.

“The divorce between her parents have put a strain on her relationship with her dad and it’s been hard to connect with him in the last year,” an insider told E! News in 2022, adding that Miley “has been closer to her mom Tish” and “doesn’t have a relationship” with Billy Ray’s new wife Firerose, whom he wed in 2023.

And when the “Flowers” singer won her first Grammy awards earlier this year for the chart-topping track, he was notably absent from her speech.

After thanking Tish Cyrus—who has since found love with Dominic Purcell—sister Brandi Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando, who were all in the audience, Miley finished her speech with, “Thank you all so much. I don’t think I forgot anyone, but I might’ve forgotten underwear. Bye!”

Then, when the 31-year-old shared an additional post-Grammys message of gratitude to social media, Ray Cyrus—who also shares kids with Trace Cyrus, 34, and Braison Cyrus, 29, and Noah Cyrus, 24—once again went without a mention.

“To my mommy @tishcyruspurcell I love you more than anything in the entire universe,” Miley wrote, “my family, @brandicyrus thank you for being there like always, my godmother @dollyparton – I felt your fairy dust everywhere.”

Jessica Alba reveals how she and Cash Warren reconnected after previous breakup https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/jessica-alba-reveals-how-she-and-cash-warren-reconnected-after-previous-breakup/5484718/ 5484718 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1434333227.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,198 Originally appeared on E! Jessica Alba knows the secret to a fantastic Hollywood marriage.

The “Fantastic Four” actress shared how she’s made her marriage with Cash Warren work for the past 16 years, explaining that they were able to reconnect after a breakup early on in their relationship.

“I think with chosen family, you ebb and flow,” Alba explained on SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up” June 5. “And I think the more you ebb and flow the more you realize that the hard times aren’t gonna be as—it’s not gonna be permanent. You can find your way back to each other.”

And while they did struggle, the 43-year-old added that she and Warren —who share kids Honor, 15, Haven, 12, and Hayes, 6,—”keep choosing to figure it out.”

“It’s messy and it’s hard and it’s humbling and all of that,” she continued, “but if you can figure out how to just find your way back to each other, it ends up being worth it.”

And the Honest Company founder is so thankful for all the years they’ve had together as it’s given them a chance to watch each other grow.

“There’s something about that ride or die, that’s seen you through so many phases of yourself, and your evolution,” she said. “There’s something so cool about that history.”

And as she said, “He’s really great and I think for me, I always was like, ‘I like myself better when he’s in my life.’ When it comes down to it, I wouldn’t wanna be with anybody else.”

Alba’s latest comments come after Warren revealed they split up during the early stages of their relationship.

“When we first started dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys,” he said on “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” in August. “It just wasn’t making me feel good.”

But during their breakup, the film producer took time to figure out how he could be Alba’s “biggest cheerleader,” instead of letting the insecurities get the better of them.

“I’m not interested in the spotlight,” he added. “I’m not a star, I’m not a celeb, I’m not an actor, I’ve never tried to be an actor. I high-five her, let her do her thing, and I’ve gotten more comfortable with it over the years. It’s something I’ll always be working on, she’ll always be working on it. We find ways where she can support me and she can uplift me. We really do try to find that balance.”

Michael Richards discusses ‘Seinfeld,' the ‘Curb' finale and the incident that changed his life https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/michael-richards-book-seinfeld/5481775/ 5481775 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/web-240606-michael-richards-getty.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 A door opens and Michael Richards makes his entrance.

Out of the public eye for much of the last two decades, he is moments from making his first live television appearance in years.

At 74 years old, his persona is far different from that of Kramer, his beloved character in “Seinfeld” whose words defied etiquette, whose movements defied physics and whose hair defied gravity.

Richards speaks carefully but openly, walks cautiously but purposefully. A three-time Emmy winner widely recognized for portraying one of television’s most iconic characters, he still carries part of the burden from a career-altering mistake that made him a recluse.

He is now making his re-entry as he details his journey – from enduring a tumultuous childhood to entering the military to becoming a sitcom star to navigating cancel culture – in his newly-released memoir “Entrances and Exits.”

“I know the title sounds kind of theatrical, I took it from Shakespeare, ‘Entrances and Exits,’” Richards said. “But it’s bigger than that. It’s not just for the sake of performance. I’m constantly in a state of change, situations coming and going. So, there are a lot of entrances and a lot of exits throughout.”

Giddy up! Becoming Cosmo Kramer

Cosmo Kramer made many grand entrances and exits through the apartment door of his neighbor Jerry Seinfeld.

Walking in was too simplistic for a character and actor of such eccentricity.

“I used to play Kramer slow,” Richards said during a sit-down interview this week with NBC. “After 13 shows, I started playing him faster so that he’s ahead of everybody. So, I came in quickly! Like coming onto a freeway, you accelerate to get into the speed of the traffic.”

Some of his entrances — there were 291 of them over nine seasons, according to a YouTube compilation — were quicker and more animated than others.

Along with his hair style, his lobster-printed shirt and his “Giddy up!” phrase, one of Kramer’s trademarks became bursting through the door by sliding in.

“There was something deep down inside that just made me feel that this is the character, the way he comes into life, the way he comes into the situation,” Richards said. “He’s got something going, or he wants to catch up…He’s on the move. And that’s where I came up with ‘Giddy up!’ He is the giddy up.”

To help put the giddy in the giddy up during his slides, Richards made some modifications to the black Doc Martens shoes he hand-picked for the character to wear throughout the series.

“I did sand the soles down just a bit, sometimes I used a little silicone spray,” Richards said. “You know they say about magicians, you’re not supposed to give away any tricks. And I hope that that doesn’t disappoint people. That they just think that I had the magic to just slide in.”

He slid into the hearts of fans, his entrances drawing such lengthy ovations from the show’s studio audiences that they were eventually instructed to hold their applause.

Richards won over the crowd with his gift of physical comedy, often wearing padding beneath his clothing as “body armor” to cushion his many falls. He introduced the character’s physicality in the second season after “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David wrote a wordy speech into a scene for Kramer to talk about how he got revenge on a laundromat by putting cement in their washing machine.

Richards suggested making it more visual by acting out what became the scene he is most proud of.

“Rather than saying funny, I wanted to do funny,” he explained. “I get to take falls and get the stuff in my eyes, and then at the end have a cover for it by saying, ‘I didn’t know it was a full box.’ And I’m standing there just covered in this crud. So, I could say funny, but I was doing funny, and the two connected. It just felt like a very whole performance.”

His performances were demanding, requiring extensive preparation and focus that prevented Richards from enjoying the experience as much as he would have liked.

“It’s just the way I work, a lot of attention to details,” he said. “Kramer was built up from the shoes to the hair to the mannerisms, the ticks, the voice was also much different. It was a manufactured character. It was a study, it was a big study.”

Watching ‘Seinfeld’ for the first time

Richards refused to watch an episode of “Seinfeld” while filming because of his critical nature.

A perfectionist notices perfection’s imperfections. Overanalyzing a performance he could no longer change would have detracted from the performance he was about to give.

He watched the series for the first time recently with his then nine-year-son Antonio, saying he was finally able to watch with great objectivity because he was no longer so close to Kramer.

“It was just delightful,” said an emotional Richards, tears in his eyes. “I just felt so proud to be a part of such a damn good show, and all of the people and the family, the making of art, of comedy. We were all so tuned into each other. It was just divine.”

They watched the show in its entirety, from the pilot to the finale — the only two episodes where Richards said he didn’t feel fully engaged in Kramer. He found parts of his performance in the finale to be over the top – like when Kramer jumps up and down while on an airplane to get water out of his ear – and the fanfare surrounding the filming of the episode to be distracting.

“I don’t work that way,” he said. “I’m alone. I do visual work in how I see the scene is going to be. I was taken out of myself. [The finale] is the only show since the pilot that I didn’t feel connected. So, the performance, I think, suffers a bit when I look at it.”

He writes in the book that he wondered at the time if the show’s divisive finale would satisfy fans, and he even offers his preferred ending.

Richards was open to a cast reunion with Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer on the other finale in the “Seinfeld” universe, in which Larry David recreated the widely-criticized plot of the show’s last episode on the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” series finale in April.

“I didn’t see it, I heard about it,” he said. “When I first heard about it, I said, ‘Oh! We should all be in there. We’re back in the cell.’ You know, my mind was going, ‘Let’s do an escape! Let’s do something!’…But it was just Larry and Jerry. They started together, they need to end together.”

‘I canceled myself out’

When Richards departed the Laugh Factory comedy club in 2006, he exited the stage, show business and the public eye.

Richards had been struggling to find work after “Seinfeld” and the short-lived “The Michael Richards Show” — where he played a private detective in a 2000 sitcom that was canceled after just eight episodes.

His confidence shattered, and sensing he had been typecast as an actor, he returned to his roots as a stand-up comedian.

While performing at the Laugh Factory, a heckler shouted “You’re not funny!” and Richards responded with racial slurs. The incident was captured on cell phone video and became a national story.

“I canceled myself out,” Richards said.

“To be so possessed by anger, that was so horrible, so embarrassing.I certainly regret that I couldn’t make people laugh. Broke my heart to get so taken up. Someone heckled me, so what?… I said, ‘I can’t, I need to go away and figure myself out. Why the hell am I getting so angry like this? Because it’s more than just being heckled. And then to grab words like that, what the hell? Come on.”

Seeking to find and eliminate the source of his anger, Richards exited the spotlight for 18 years.

“It felt right,” he said. “I welcomed the personal work. I went into analysis. I was ready for it. I think I was having a kind of midlife crisis.”

Other than appearances on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” in 2006 and Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in 2012,” he lived a private life. Until now.

Richards, in 2018, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Facing the thought of death and the reflection it causes, Richards felt it was time to share his story.

“The cancer certainly set me up for some big reveal work,” he said. “And I wanted to leave something for the fans of ‘Seinfeld.’ I wanted to share the process of how I made the K-Man. How I brought Kramer to life.”

It helped bring Richards back to the life he once knew — and perhaps, one day, back to acting.

“It’s possible,” he said. “Yeah, it’s possible.”

Just before Richards was preparing to leave the studio after his television interview, he was told a story about the impact “Seinfeld” had on a fan of the show.

“All the time that I was doing ‘Seinfeld,’ I didn’t have enough feeling to know how the show was landing with an audience, the connection,” Richards said. “That story you just told me — just the effect of comedy, being a part of it — I wish I could have enjoyed it more then.

“Now, I do indeed enjoy it. But, it just took a while to come into my heart,” he added. “Part of the catalyst from the Laugh Factory, I can have a lot of talent, I can have a lot of fame, but if I don’t have my heart in place, and I can’t feel and have empathy to be touched by your story, see, I’ve got work to do.”

A door opens and Michael Richards makes his exit.

Adam Levine is returning to ‘The Voice': Meet his fellow season 27 coaches https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/adam-levine-is-returning-to-the-voice-meet-his-fellow-season-27-coaches/5481608/ 5481608 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-1145441001.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=200,300 Originally appeared on E! Adam Levine is officially reclaiming his red swivel chair.

The “Maroon 5” frontman is making his long-awaited return as a coach on “The Voice” upcoming 27th season, NBC announced June 5.

Levine, who was a mainstay on the singing competition series during its first 16 seasons, will make his homecoming next year after exiting the show back in 2019.

Season 27 will also welcome a first-time full-season coach: Kelsea Ballerini. The country superstar will dig into her “bold, innovative approach as a powerful crossover artist and songwriter” to mentor the new group of music industry hopefuls, according to NBC’s announcement.

Ballerini previously served as “The Voice” season 16 battle advisor and also filled in as temporary coach for team Kelly Clarkson during season 20.

Rounding out the coaching panel will be returning coaches John Legend and Michael Bublé, who is set to make his debut as coach on the upcoming 26th season.

Of course, that means current coaches Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg won’t be back after season 26, which premieres this fall.

However, Team Reba still has one more shot at claiming “The Voice” title after winning season 25 last month with gospel singer Asher HaVon.

Following his victory, the 31-year-old shared his gratitude for the country legend’s mentorship.

“Wow! I am speechless!” HaVon wrote in a May 21 Instagram post. “I am the Winner of @nbcthevoice Season 25! I am truly humbled and grateful for this moment.”

“First, Thank you to God for this gift and this opportunity to share it,” he continued. “Thank you to @nbcthevoice for continuing to give this platform for us to showcase our gifts. Thank you to Mama @Reba. You have changed my life and created a milestone in my life that I will have forever. I am your son for life.”

Reese Witherspoon reacts after Nicole Kidman forgets her real name https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/reese-witherspoon-reacts-after-nicole-kidman-forgets-her-real-name/5485308/ 5485308 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-2150504356-e1717734572585.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,200 Originally appeared on E! Reese Witherspoon‘s been living a big little lie.

After Nicole Kidman questioned why Witherspoon calls their “Big Little Lies” costar Laura Dern by her last name, the “Legally Blonde” actress had to give her pal a gentle refresher on her own moniker.

“I hate how you call her Dern,” Kidman confessed to Witherspoon in a video for Vanity Fair published June 5, “It sounds so weird. I’m always like ‘Laura,’ and you’re like ‘No, Dern, Dern,’ and I’m like, ‘Why?'”

Witherspoon quickly interrupted her pal’s rant to explain the nickname, saying, “‘Cause my name is Laura, and her name’s Laura, and it’s confusing to me.”

“The Morning Show” star went on to remind Kidman that her birth name is Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon, which she shortened to her mother Betty’s maiden name before pursuing a career in acting.

And while Kidman, 56, admitted she “forgot” her castmates shared a first name, she still expressed some confusion over the whole situation, noting that Dern “doesn’t even call you Laura, though.”

25 Fascinating Facts About Reese Witherspoon

Witherspoon, 48, didn’t have a rebuttal for that argument, quipping, “You’re trying to understand something that just makes no sense.”

Of course, Witherspoon has been publicly going by her stage name for most of her life. After all, the Oscar winner got her start in the entertainment industry at age 7, when she starred in a florist’s commercial. Seven years later, she made her feature film debut in “The Man on the Moon,” a role that she’s previously credited with kickstarting her road to stardom.

“I had no idea the journey that lay ahead of me,” wrote Witherspoon of the 1999 film in a 2021 Instagram, “but I am so deeply grateful for all the ups and the downs that brought me to this moment.”

Rodeo star Spencer Wright's son, 3, dies after toy tractor accident https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/rodeo-star-spencer-wright-son-dies-toy-tractor-accident/5476726/ 5476726 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-860450266.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,184 Originally appeared on E! The Wright family is mourning an unimaginable loss.

Levi Wright, the 3-year-old son of rodeo star Spencer Wright and wife Kallie Wright, passed away on June 2, a close family friend confirmed on social media June 3.

“I cannot even begin to explain how hard the last two weeks have been,” Mindy Sue Clark wrote in a June 3 Facebook post. “From the moment my phone rang the night of his accident, to last night receiving the message that he had to go. I don’t want to focus on the bad or sad, even though it feels like someone ripped my heart out and squeezed it right in front of me.”

Clark went on to praise the community who rallied in support of Levi, saying, “I want to focus on the many miracles we all got to bear witness to in those 12 days.”

“The response Levi’s story got was absolutely incredible,” she continued. “How many people have told us our names were permanently in their social media search bars waiting for updates. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people surrounded our best little buddy, lifted him up in prayer, and threw their loving arms around Levi and his family.”

Noting that she’ll always be thankful for getting to be his “Aunt Mindy,” Mindy concluded, “Love you Beans! Going to miss you like crazy buddy!”

Celebrity Deaths: 2024’s Fallen Stars

The toddler’s death comes two weeks after he accidentally drove his toy tractor into a Utah river.

According a May 21 statement from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were able to locate the boy and life-saving measures “were administered on the scene” before he was transported to a local hospital. Levi was later air-lifted to a children’s hospital for further care as he remained in critical condition.

After that time, Kallie — who also shares daughter Steeley, 5, and son Brae, 9 months, with Spencer — posted updates on Levi’s condition, noting on her Facebook May 24 that he “opened his eyes for a period of time.”

However, later that same day, Kallie told supporters that Levi’s MRI “wasn’t good.”

“We’re shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life.” she wrote. “Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days.”

Then, in another heartbreaking update June 2, Kallie shared that Levi was being taken off life support.

“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world’s best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” she wrote on Facebook. “Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this. We prayed those things were him defying odds & proving to us that he wanted to stay here but we see now he wanted to give us time to find peace with letting him go.”

“I told you my baby was thoughtful & considerate, I truly believe he did that for us,” Kallie continued. “During this time he brought out humanity across the nation, he dropped so many to their knees & reminded them what truly matters in this world.”

She added that she’d soon climb into bed with Levi as he fell asleep for the last time.

“I find comfort in knowing he will be restored to the perfect little boy he was & have the ability to do all the things he loves!” she concluded. “I know there are Angels up there waiting to hold him until I can again! We will miss him every second of every day down here but feel without unwavering doubt this is the best thing we can do for him! We love you baby beans and I can’t wait till the day you can ‘work the ground’ with me again!”

Sean Combs sells stake in Revolt, media company he founded https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/sean-combs-sells-stake-revolt-media-company/5476870/ 5476870 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-956034054-e1717533110936.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,213 Sean Combs, the hip-hop mogul who is facing mounting sexual assault allegations, has sold his majority stake in Revolt, the company announced Tuesday.

“Shares held by the company’s former chair, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, have been fully redeemed and retired,” Revolt said in a statement, according to NBC News.

The company said it will remain Black-owned and operated.

“As the company continues to pioneer a new era of entertainment that empowers creators and establishes a new media model, this transformative structure ensures that the employees who are driving the company’s growth also have the opportunity to benefit from its success,” it said.

The New York Times was the first to report the development.

Revolt launched more than a decade ago. Combs has said he founded it to empower and tell the stories of Black people.

“Drink Champs” and “Caresha Please” are among its most popular video podcasts.

A trailblazer in hip-hop, media and fashion — having also created the Bad Boy music label and the Sean John clothing line — Combs’ business portfolio has been threatened since he was sued in November by his former longtime girlfriend Cassie. The singer and model, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, accused him in a bombshell lawsuit of physical abuse and sexual assault during their relationship.

Ventura, who was signed to Bad Boy, began dating Combs in 2005, when she was 19 and he was 37. One day after she filed her lawsuit, they settled on undisclosed terms. Combs’ lawyer said at the time that the settlement “is in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”

Combs stepped down as chairman of Revolt that same month, and multiple lawsuits followed. He has been sued by four women, as well as by a music producer on his most recent album who accused Combs of sexually harassing, drugging and threatening him over more than a year.

He has denied any wrongdoing, saying last year that “sickening allegations” had been made against him by people looking “looking for a quick payday.”

Soon after Ventura’s lawsuit was filed, Hulu scrapped a reality television show that was to have followed Combs’ family, and he withdrew his lawsuit against a liquor brand as part of a settlement with the London-based spirits giant Diageo, which he had accused of racism.

In March, federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, with a source telling NBC News at the time that Combs was the subject of a federal investigation.

Last month, CNN obtained surveillance video that corroborated one incident referenced in Ventura’s lawsuit. The video shows Combs kicking, striking and dragging her in a hotel in Los Angeles. Two days after its release, he issued a video apology on Instagram.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Combs said in the video. “I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

‘Boy Meets World' star Trina McGee is pregnant at 54 https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/boy-meets-world-star-trina-mcgee-is-pregnant-at-54/5474235/ 5474235 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/GettyImages-917205588-e1717478078738.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=240,300 Originally appeared on E! Trina McGee is preparing for when baby meets world.

After all, the “Boy Meets World” alum — who played Angela Moore, the love interest of Rider Strong‘s Shawn Hunter character, on the last three seasons of the coming-of-age sitcom — is pregnant with her fourth baby.

“At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” she wrote on Instagram June 3. “Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you.”

The pregnancy announcement comes shortly after McGee bared her baby belly in a photo taken at Malacate Beach, Belize. In the snapshot, the actress — wearing a blue crop top and white maxi skirt — held dessert in her hand, writing in the caption, “If I show up at your door with a coconut cake we bout to have fun.”

After a fan commented about her noticeable “bump,” McGee wrote back, “Yup.”

McGee is already mom to three kids, two of whom she shares with ex-husband Randall Courtland Davis. She has been married to actor-producer Marcello Thedford for 16 years, according to People, after the pair first met over two decades ago while filming the 1996 Sylvester Stallone flick “Daylight.”

2024 Celebrity Babies

In March, the couple relocated from the San Diego area to Belize to build what McGee described as an “eco resort” on 10 acres of land. They are currently in the process of renovating a cafe called Sisters.

“Building is not just about shelter,” McGee shared in an April 2 post on TikTok, where she and Thedford have been documenting their construction journey. “It’s about realizing dreams, making statements, creating space where it happens.”

Katy Perry edits Harrison Butker's controversial commencement speech to kick off Pride Month https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/katy-perry-harrison-butker-commencement-speech-pride-month/5473235/ 5473235 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2024/06/image_715a53.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Katy Perry kicked off Pride Month by posting a heavily edited version of Harrison Butker’s viral commencement speech, changing key messages of the controversial address.

Butker made headlines for a speech he delivered at Benedictine College May 11 that highlighted his views on gender roles, birth control, surrogacy, Pride Month and more topics. TODAY.com published a full transcript of the speech here.

On June 1, which marks the start of a month dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community, Perry shared an edited version of the Kansas City Chiefs kicker’s recent remarks on Instagram.

In the edited video, Butker’s words from different parts of his speech are spliced together to say, “For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you’re going to get in your career? I would venture to guess that the women here today are going to lead successful careers in the world.”

The edited and rewritten speech continues: “I say all of this to you because I have seen it firsthand. How much happier someone can be supporting women and not saying that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. The road ahead is bright. Things are changing, society is shifting and people, young and old, are embracing diversity, equity and inclusion.”

In the modified clip, Butker’s words are also edited to wish the crowd a happy Pride Month.

“I want to say Happy Pride Month to all of you, and congratulations Class of 2024!” Butker was edited to say.

In the caption, Perry wrote, “Fixed this for my girls, my graduates, and my gays — you can do anything.”

She added, “Congratulations and happy pride,” before including a Pride flag, a transgender flag and an orange heart emoji.

TODAY.com has reached out to representatives for Butker and Perry for comment on the edited video.

Butker’s original speech to the students of Benedictine College did not contain the same views and message.

During Butker’s commencement speech, he said, in part, “For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”

The NFL player also seemingly criticized Pride Month. He applauded Catholic pride as “not the deadly sin sort of pride that has an entire month dedicated to it, but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the Holy Ghost to glorify him.”

Many have weighed in on Butker’s remarks and called him out. Some people responded to the kicker’s speech on the Kansas City Chiefs Instagram page, commenting jabs about needing a man’s permission to watch games, for example.

A group of nuns associated with Benedictine College reacted to the speech, too.

In a statement shared to Facebook by the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica — described as a founding institution and sponsor of the college — the nuns said they “do not believe that Harrison Butker’s comments in his 2024 Benedictine College commencement address represent the Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts college that our founders envisioned and in which we have been so invested.”

The statement said, in part, “Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division. One of our concerns was the assertion that being a homemaker is the highest calling for a woman.”

The NFL also responded, clarifying that Butker’s opinions do not reflect the league’s stance. Jonathan Beane, the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, said in a statement obtained by TODAY.com that the kicker “gave a speech in his personal capacity.”

“His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger,” Beane said.

Butker reacted to the backlash, as well. He commented on the matter while attending a Courage Under Fire gala in Nashville, Tennessee.

“The theme for tonight’s gala, ‘Courage Under Fire,’ was decided many months ago, but it now seems providential that this would be the theme after what we have all witnessed these past two weeks,” Butker said. “If it wasn’t clear that the timeless Catholic values are hated by many, it is now. Over the past few days, my beliefs or what people think I believe have been the focus of countless discussions around the globe.”

He said his “beliefs” were met with a “shocking level of hate.”

“The more I’ve talked about what I value most, which is my Catholic faith, the more polarizing I have become,” he said. “It’s a decision I’ve consciously made, and one I do not regret at all.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez tackle breakup rumors with PDA outing https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/ben-affleck-and-jennifer-lopez-tackle-breakup-rumors-with-pda-outing/5473693/ 5473693 post https://media.nbcnewyork.com/2022/02/AP_21347143797893.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,195 Originally appeared on E! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are still living the greatest love story never told.

The pair, who have recently been the subject of breakup rumors, stepped out for a family outing at the YMCA in Hollywood, Calif., June 2.

Affleck and Lopez were photographed sharing some subtle PDA as they made their way into the recreation center to watch the Oscar winner’s son Samuel, 12, play basketball. For the sporty event, they were joined by Affleck’s mother Chris Anne Boldt, as well as his ex-wife Jennifer Garner — with whom he shares Samuel, as well as Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15.

For the occasion, Affleck wore a red corduroy jacket with a fur lined color, paired with a lighter red T-shirt with the phrase, “The Dickens” emblazoned on the front with jeans. Meanwhile, the “On the Floor” singer — who shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex Marc Anthony — wore a long-sleeved black T-shirt and jeans, pairing it with a black handbag and brown tinted aviator sunglasses. And Lopez even gave her man a peck on the cheek in front of the cameras.

Jennifer Lopez Through The Years

The couple’s joint outing comes amid a tumultuous time for the “Atlas” actress, as she announced the cancellation of her “This Is Me…Live” tour just two days prior.

“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” the 54-year-old wrote in her OnTheLo newsletter May 31. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again.”

The “Selena” star’s tour cancellation follows weeks of speculation about the state of her and Affleck’s relationship, with multiple outlets reporting the couple has been living separately. However, the duo, who wed in July 2022 nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement, has been seen out several times together including another family event May 31.

But amid the rumors, Affleck and Lopez have yet to speak out about their relationship status.

After all, when asked to share insight during an “Atlas” press event in Mexico City, Lopez simply laughed before leaning into the microphone to deliver a simple, “You know better than that.”

However, they have spoken about how interest in their relationship has rocked them in the past with the “Let’s Get Loud” singer sharing they broke off their first engagement in 2004 just days before their wedding due to a “massive amount of scrutiny.”

“For all those years, it was really hard,” Lopez recalled of her time apart from Affleck in her “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” documentary, which released earlier this year. “Because I didn’t just feel like I lost the love of my life, I felt like I lost the best friend that I ever had.”
